"Et Tu, Marco? & Europe's PC Suicide Pact Marches On"

Hello, my friends, so much to report, as usual! For those of you who read Julius Caesar, you'll recognize the dying emperor's remark as he fell to the long knife of his erstwhile friend, Brutus. I used the quote coz Marco stabbed himself (politically speaking) on none other than the Ides of March, last week. Most of you know I've worked with him since 2002 and was his LCD, which soon morphed into Least Common Denominator, once he reached DC. Rubio's first sin was to deny the Tea Party, whose support was the main reason he won, more times than Judas did Jesus. That sin could have probably been forgiven, had he not really stepped in it with Gang of 8 in 2013. I told Marco, back then, he'd just killed any future political ambitions, especially if they involved the WH. More recently, I also told Marco if his campaign failed, it would go down as arguably one the worst collapses in US history of a very promising career. Rubio was the GOP's darling and heir apparent after Romney's pathetic 2012 fiasco. The guy who catapulted from FL's  SoH to U.S. Sen. in a landslide, lost his way in 6 short years when he sold out to Big Biz and their lust for "cheap" labor, which we all pay for in social service costs and prison population, of which illegals comprise 30%. What a shame!
I'm only gonna spend one paragraph on the current election mess we're in. And the nominees are: this nation has to choose from the 2 who emerge from a field that consists of a combed over, loud mouth carnival huckster, a decent, pious hardliner conservative who sounds like prosecutor and looks like Dracula, a Howdy Doody looking fraud who is loved by the DC Beltway insiders for a reason, the most cheated on woman (who'd be unknown if not for her last name and belongs in a Federal pen) in US history who thinks tolerating marital humiliation for 40 years entitles her to the WH, and a Marxist whose first wife left him coz they lived in a dirt floor maple shack and has never earned a paycheck (until age 40) in his entire life from anything but politics (since 1981) yet claims to be a outsider. Did I miss anything? It's mind boggling that election after election, we continue to get such a crappy menu to dine from. As the remaining primaries wrap up, I'll get into more detail of the candidates. BTW, notice how much Trump's comb over looks like Pepe Le Pew's?

Now to Europe. Once again, we see Paris repeated in the very city whose Muslim ghetto spawned the Paris massacres. The cultures and attitudes of Europeans, who elect the PC wimps laying their societies open to carnage, are astounding! A German pt. of mine told me they can't keep pepper spray on the shelves in Cologne, LOL. Where are those proud Aryans who are supposed to defend their women and the Fatherland? They're still sucking their thumbs with the guilt of the Holocaust and impotent to act. It's no surprise Belgium would be attacked, it took long enough. I believe it's the same cell and they moved up the attacks to make a statement of reprisal for the recent arrests of the Paris planner, along with 3 who hid him in the Molenbeek ghetto. I use the term suicide pact because a nation (and entire EU) with wide open borders and laws like Belgium's that prohibit arresting a terror suspect after office hours, are truly aiding and abetting those who wish to slaughter their citizens. Think I'm exaggerating? See below.
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/12/17/belgium-missed-chance-to-nab-terror-suspect-due-to-law-limiting-raids-official.html
This is madness and a direct product of 2 big factors: 1) White populations who've pilled and aborted themselves out of existence and thought importing vermin would fill the gap. 2) Liberal indoctrination that seeks to blame the victims and excuse the atrocities of barbarians who claim to follow a "faith" (unreformed since the 7th century) that relies on butchery, subjugation and vicious misogyny to control its people. Our own Pres. still cannot bring himself to say "radical Islam" or "Islamic terrorism", see for yourselves.
If we think this is only a European problem, we're more delusional than the Left. Never mind the 4-5 attacks we've had since 2009, there are over 400 ISIS scumbags in the US and they're plotting as we speak. As long as we have a milquetoast, pretzel wrist "leader" who goes to Cuba to French kiss the communist thugs and spent all of 84 seconds to comment on the Brussels atrocities, ISIS will rightfully feel emboldened and not fear reprisals from the West. The myth of a Sunni coalition is as big a joke as the notion that NATO will fight these monsters. NATO troops can't even keep the unarmed refugee hordes out of their own nations, let alone fight vicious armed insurgents who worship death. I doubt Americans will want to commit troops to Europe when the likelihood of any real commitment from our Euro pals is highly doubtful. Until the people begin to vote out PC idiots like Merkel, Hollande and Michel, nothing will change. The Belgian PM has already told the 2 biggest culprits in their nation's abysmal security failure they can't resign! http://www.sify.com/news/belgian-pm-rejects-resignation-by-two-key-ministers-news-others-qdyvEkcghbhbi.html
In Germany, there's a right wing party that was once tiny, growing in popularity and size, maybe the Germans will be the first European nationals to wake up.
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/10/world/europe/germanys-embrace-of-migrants-spawns-rise-of-far-right-leader.html?_r=0
The very design of the EU is an open invitation to terrorism or at least ease of movement by any criminals who wish to remain on the lam. It's far too late to simply seal their borders, assuming the Euros even do that. The cockroaches are already in the house.
On the dental front we got our 2 biggest bills passed, loan assistance to new dentists in exchange for working in underserved areas and funding for 2 DDS (Donated Dental Services) coordinators. This was a pitiful $170,000 per year for 2 salaried positions to help us give away $ millions in free care, which Rick Scott vetoed, what a gutless t**d he is! We still need him to sign the other bill, I'm not holding my breath.

"And Then There Were Fewer"

Hi everyone, it's been 2 months! Between the holidays, a nasty cold and letting IA/NH conclude, I waited. I'm glad we got both of those fried butter & chowder states out of the way. They've rarely ever predicted the eventual GOP nominee and are a distraction. The idea that someone who's unwilling to kiss the butts of corn farmers can be taken out by a state with minimal electoral votes is asinine. That's probably why I did love the fact IA voters told their meddling career Gov. to "eff" off after he told them not to support Cruz.
http://www.bleedingheartland.com/2016/02/02/iowa-gop-caucus-goers-deliver-big-hit-to-terry-branstads-clout/
NH is a fraud RINO haven, pretending to embrace their "live free or die" motto. Meanwhile, they reelected liberal old biddy Jean Shaheen in 2014. Remember, this was a time when several young, energetic conservatives won big in NE, IA and CO. Maybe if the NH GOP had run someone better than MA carpetbagging Ken Doll, Scott Brown, they could have dispatched the old bag. These 2 primaries are little different than Groundhog Day, though the fat & furry little guy is cute!

By now, the so called mainstream establishments of both parties are full panic mode. The naysayers who had Trump out ages ago are beginning to admit he's been far more resilient than they ever dreamed. Such is the anger of the base and the disconnect of the cowards who've run the GOP into a neutered milquetoast and still thought they could impose another RINO on us. We just got rid of Crisco, whose attack on Marco (more on that later) turned out to be kamikaze. Trump, Cruz & Rubio need to get rid of Kasich and Bush, they are both annoying, would lose huge in the general election and need to go away. I suspect Kasich will abandon his "I'm the only nice guy, adult in the room" routine and hold OH support as hostage when he steps down. In other words, be nice to me or I'll make sure you lose OH, without which no Republican can win the WH. Carson will soon fold and would make a terrific HHS secretary.
Rubio had a really bad brain freeze this Sat. when attacked by Crisco as inexperienced. First, he did counter with the fact NJ saw 9 credit rating downgrades under Crisco's watch. When Crisco saw he'd been challenged, he replied with his usual rant about governors and Washington, etc. Rubio panicked and blurted out the exact same line he'd used a moment before about Obama knowing exactly what he was doing, totally non sequitur. It made him look like a robot that suddenly malfunctioned, totally not his usual self. I told Marco all he needed to throw in Crisco's face is the fact FL is full of NJ refugees, any questions? I guess we'll see in SC if he bounces back or not. He's already hitting Trump with the fact that a hotel deal abroad is not foreign policy.
On the other side we have a communist who says he's an outsider but has been in politics for over 30 years. Yes, I know the media is going all out to call him a lovable, socialist who only wants us to be more Swedish, but don't be fooled. This guy's a dogmatic Marxist down to the bone! See for yourselves.
https://www.facebook.com/supremepatriot/videos/225221624485891/
He can only appeal to the young & stupid, who think he'll tax us at 90% to keep them comfy at home in mom & dad's with their iPhone and Pop Tarts. I have to LOL at the claims that Bernie's a tough dude and can't be intimidated. Really?
                                     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gjt56Tdhhqk
Ah, yes, progressive Seattle, the home of Starbucks, anarchists trashing downtown and minimum wage hikes resulting in firings & replacing employees with kiosk machines! Sanders just soiled himself yesterday by meeting with the scumbag race hustler, Al Sharpton, only to be snubbed by the Congressional Black Caucus for Hillary. Maybe Comrade Bernie needs to work on a convincing fake black accent to get more hood cred? Fast fwd. to 35 seconds if you're impatient.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWRoEpYuHwI
While I'm glad Sanders is exposing Hillary as the weak, disconnected buffoon she truly is, his dog & pony (or is it hammer & sickle?) show will soon be over. What does worry me is the left in the nation has been brainwashing our kids for 50 years, unchecked, into believing redistribution is good and their only hope for success. For any who feel tempted to buy that farce, see Greece, Portugal & Spain. When you see the incredible ignorance and refusal to budge from their dogmatic ignorance by kids on our college campuses, it's downright scary. When their utopia fizzles, they will seek to blame someone else for their failures. It will be up the the next GOP nominee to confront and defeat this head on, but won't be easy. When any on the right try to refute the message of Marxism and envy, they are either not allowed on the university campus, shouted down, or attacked. I hope none of you ever have a child tell you that you only succeeded due to white privilege, I'd wanna slap their teeth out of their head!
I see an angry electorate on both sides, more than willing to toss the routine and usual out for something drastic. It's gonna come down to which solution wins out, socialism that collapses the economy or true conservatism and a mandatory dismantling of the crony capitalism & entitlement parasites killing this nation. This nation has a stark choice to make this Nov.
DDOH was 2 months early this year, due to the earlier start to the FL legislative session. We didn't get a big turnout, but did manage decent numbers. As always, we must thank Carol Nissen and the FDA Alliance for their undying support of DDOH. It was good to see many students and my pleasure to meet and spend time with UF's new dean, Dr. Isabel Garcia. I think it's vital to have academia work with us in Tallahassee and would love to see more dental faculty there. I believe this was a good experience for the dean and I hope to see her at more of our future events. Our issues were pretty much the same as last year's and all we need is for the RPOF to do its job, pass a budget and fund our bills.

"America's Death Spiral By PC"

To paraphrase Jerry Lee Lewis, "there's a whole lotta killin' goin' on!" Last week we had the Planned Parenthood mass shooter, which I think was a false flag Manchurian Candidate event staged to be a perfect segue from the pre-Thanksgiving DNC talking points about how we should take the time during Thanksgiving, of all things, to have a conversation with our nutty uncle or other right wing loon relative who supports the 2nd amendment. I know you must think it's crazy to suggest these things are staged for political agenda advancement, that's exactly why they get away with it.
http://nodisinfo.com/colorado-springs-planned-parenthood-shooting-is-a-gun-control-hoax/
Still don't believe me? Watch the first minute of this video, right after the camera leaves Deputy Large Marge, and keep your eyes on the face of the "victim', it's flesh tone plastic, like we use for CPR courses.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDxoCz-M3Fk
You may also recall the left couldn't wait to jump on this a domestic terror attack by what they framed as a bible thumping yahoo who left his Una Bomber cabin to wreak havoc on dem city slickers, as he commented "no more baby body parts". Now let's look at the latest massacre of the week.
This one was clearly Islamic terror and, of course it's no surprise that neither Obama, his lackeys or accomplice media will admit the truth. Even though CNN has been forced to admit the couple was radicalized, she pledged allegiance to ISIS, and their rented house was more like a terrorist hotbed than home, they still won't call it what we all know it is- Islamic terrorism come to our shores. And why won't they admit this? Maybe because Obama et al have been promoting a total lie since Bite Me bragged that Usma Bin Laden is dead and GM is alive. Or maybe the fact Obama was telling the nation how ISIS was contained, 9 hours before the Paris massacres, or the fact he knew of no US threat, right before this week's terrorist attack. So the hypocrisy is legion- when it's a white Christian shooter, the cry of terrorism immediately goes out. when it's a Muslim, they do more contortions than Houdini to avoid the truth. If the GOP can't win the WH in 2016, they need to hang themselves by long ropes over some DC overpass.
We have a cancer called PC that is paralyzing and slowly killing this nation. Even this monster's neighbor, who saw Middle East men in a rented house unloading massive packages at all hours, was afraid to call police. Why? Because he didn't wanna profile or sound racist. WTH is wrong with people?! Even terrorist apologist, Obama, has gone on TV to tell us "if you see something, say something". You don't get more PC and wimpy than the French, but they're taking aggressive actions like closing mosques and going house to house in the Muslim ghetto where this vermin hides and stocks its weapons.
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/03/world/europe/france-shuts-down-three-mosques-and-four-muslim-prayer-rooms.html?_r=0
These mosques are centers for radicalization of future terrorists and giving the blessing for this atrocity by Imams who should be men of God, not inciters of genocide. Remember Obama's mocking of the GOP for supposedly being afraid of Middle East widows, women & children? This woman helped massacre 14 innocent victims, way to go, Barry! What a testament to the complete ineptitude of our govt.to properly vet these people who come as refugees. Let's not forget that Anwar Al Awlaki once led Muslim prayers in the Pentagon.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1322397/Al-Qaedas-Anwar-Al-Awlaki-invited-Pentagon-lunch-9-11-attacks.html
The Farook family lawyers are on TV basically blaming the victims, the nation and suggesting this attack has no ties to terrorism or radical Islam. They're upset that the terrorist's poor, innocent mother was grilled for hours by the FBI. What they never mentioned is that mother lived upstairs in the same house that was basically a weapons, ammo depot & pipe bomb factory! The deflect and obfuscate machine is in full CYA mode. CAIR (which is really the American chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood) is also out doing spin sessions with the all too willing accomplice media. They worry about anti-Muslim backlash? Too bad the facts are not with them. Twice as many hate crimes last year, in the US, were directed at Jews, not Muslims. This is all about deflecting attention from the real issue of the American population under assault and pushing for gun control to make it even easier for the terrorists. Maybe Obama could do an executive order so no Muslim can buy a firearm? No, of course not, they're not the ones he wants to disarm. The targeting of a small place like SB is to send the message that ISIS will go beyond NYC, L.A., or SF and even Small Town, USA is not safe. I think this issue is and will continue to be front & center in the 2016 elections, not good for the Dems. But I also think as long as we have the Muslim-in-Chief in the WH, nothing will be done to seriously confront the issue. Remember, when seconds count, police are minutes away. Do whatever you're comfortable with to protect yourselves and stay alert & safe.
A brief dental update. Our bill to prevent hygienists from obtaining the ability to get provider numbers and bill Medicaid is getting support in both the House & Senate. This is a good start for the upcoming session and we need to stay on top of our 3-4 issues. DDOH is 2 months earlier this year, early Feb.

"The Young & Stupid Gone Wild!"

Yes, they are, going crazy on many of the nation's college campuses. We are raising (more like pampering & coddling) a generation of wussified, entitled, lazy malcontents who possess zero abilities to enact the very tolerance they hypocritically demand, as well as compete with their foreign counterparts. Our colleges are no longer about teaching skills for life, they're all about PC, victimhood and liberal indoctrination. This is the first generation of Americans who will under achieve the accomplishments attained by their parents. Sadly, I've seen this achievement shortfall in the kids of some of my friends & colleagues, though none of those kids are anarchists or rabble rousers. We have precious snowflakes who believe the nation has wronged them and owes them from cradle to grave. They are right about one thing, we do owe them a swift kick in the glutes. They place their feelings and sensitivities above all else, as if the real world and life were that accommodating.
Here's a great satire on the insanity gripping our society- reader warning: 2-3 "bad words" are used.
http://www.theonion.com/article/parents-dedicate-new-college-safe-space-honor-daug-50851
It's one thing to protest unfairness but to shut down a campus because someone may have said something mean, is total BS. These spoiled brats feel they can even demand what curriculum is offered. Then, of course, their next step will be to demand we provide them jobs for useless degrees consisting of useless, touchy feely, PC curriculum. Enter OWS. Mizzou is a particular joke, seems they were held hostage by a crappy football team who can't win the Toilet Bowl, Pasta Bowl or Salad Bowl. If Mizzou had suspended the entire team, evicted them from their varsity dorms and taken back their "footballship" $, this would have ended soon. Reagan dealt with this anarchy decades ago, as Gov. of CA with radicals at UC Berkeley, the mecca of dysfunctional, militant liberalism. He called out the Natl. Guard and put the lice infested, unbathed miscreants in their place. The Pres. & Chancellor of Mizzou who stepped down in the face of these punks are spineless, they need gonad injections, stat! Meanwhile, the graduates of these schools rank far lower than their counterparts in other, often far poorer, nations. This is a cumulative deficiency that starts in grade school and piles up as they proceed to be dumbed down. If we don't get a firm handle on this fast, we're gonna see mass chaos in a majority of our campuses, as this cancer metastisizes. Make no mistake, my friends, this is all about advancing a socialist agenda and encroaching on our freedoms. The left knows they can't win the argument in the open arena of ideas and discourse, so they can only attempt to silence dissent. These useful idiots are puppets for people like Soros and like minded anti-Americans. See for yourselves if you doubt me, we are in a civil war, folks!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duBPRi2GdOU
Here's the student body turned mob, along with one of the cackling faculty harpies basically incite a riot when faced with, of all things, the 1st amendment. She may have resigned her courtesy appointment but still works there. Why isn't she in jail?!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPG43X7SDB8
I wanna switch to illegal dentistry.  A colleague of mine recently asked me for ULA (Unlicensed Activity) info. He saw a pt. who'd been to an illegal dentist who placed an acrylic fixed bridge which soon came loose. He also charged the man as if it was ceramic, LOL. But the kicker is, he refused to refund the patient's $. When the pt. contacted ULA, he was given every run around, barrier and made to jump through every hoop conceivable. Then we wonder why people won't come forward or follow through? They finally opened a case against this guy, who turned out not to even be a dentist. He's a hack lab tech, called "mecanico dental" in the Republic of Miami, He "practices" in a shopping center on a busy street, no hidden apt. or garage here. He's also on govt. handouts, gotta love America! Those of you around the state who might laugh at our banana republic need to remember illegal practice tends to grow wherever minorities live, especially Hispanic. That means we're no longer in Miami, Toto. If we don't get ULA to be more victim and rule of law friendly, it will only empower illegality and discourage proper action to be taken by the rest of us.
Let's close with ADA stuff. This week, our own Irene Marron won the election for ADA Vice-President!! I don't remember the last time FL was so highly represented at the ADA level, and I've been an FDA delegate since 1994. I know there was some controversy about Irene's decision to run. Some in the delegation felt it was premature, that it might hurt our chances to elect an ADA Pres. in the near future. I never did see the logic against a hard working ADA veep doing a great job, making FL proud and setting the table for another FL holder of higher office to be elected in a favorable atmosphere. The only reason that wait & see mindset would compute would be if the rest of the ADA delegation also felt the same way our FL naysayers did. Well, it's obvious the conventional wisdom was proven wrong, since no one from any state can win without adequate support from the rest of the nation. I certainly hope Irene had the votes of ALL our 17th District ADA delegates. We need to worry less about who colors outside the lines or when they do it, and focus on who can win. For those of you who may not like my take, or think I'm wrong, let me remind you our own Cesar Sabates was once told "you're not ready" in reference to his run for FDA Pres. Any questions? In the past, FL has run 2 highly qualified candidates for ADA Pres. who lost big. Call me loco, but doesn't that bear an eerie resemblance to the GOP's problems in presidential elections? Let's stop making the same mistakes.

"Cirque du DC"

Hi folks, it's been 2 months-those pesky vacations are a distraction. So much has happened, yes DC is now in full circus mode. But, let's start with dentistry. If any of you saw the last issue of TFDA, you know my piece on LECOM (previous TFDA) truly hit a nerve. Some of my colleagues warned me that if I stabbed the sacred cow of some, there'd be a backlash. Well, there was. Most of the wagon circling reponse was from my panhandler (geographic adjective, not suggesting any of them are hobos) colleagues. Of course, it's no coincidence De Funiak Springs ( LECOM's FL based extramural clinic) is in the panhandle. They made some salient points, as did the LECOM student, it's just that so much of what they told me is there somehow escaped the eyes of our ADA Delegation who went there. Look, I don't wanna close them down, I just want what's best for students, who are the future of our profession. I know the former Nova Asst. Dean went from angrily barking into the mic at the BOD hearing after I testified, "those claims are all blatantly false and totally unsubstantiated!" to "look, if we're doing anything wrong let's sit down, talk about it and fix it" His epiphany took place in 2 short months, from Feb. ( BOD meeting) to when I next saw him at DDOH in April of 2014. I hope some of my ADA delegate pals will step up and weigh in if they also find inconsistencies. It gets tiring, fighting the fights of others who report but decline commenting. Any of you who know me also know I'm an ardent supporter and defender of dental students. I've stood up for them in the past and will do so again. I hope LECOM really does create and sustain a truly exceptional program, it's the only reason a school should open and operate, IMO. BTW, we have a real mess in Community Smiles, a topic for future discussion. To quote Forrest Gump, that's all I have to say about that.
Now, about that circus. We have a Pres. who's in such retreat, he's running faster than Air Force 1 can keep up! I know he'll get away with it, short term, because the Middle East is such an irreparable toilet and Americans are beyond war weary. They don't care who gets massacred, burned alive, beheaded etc. as long as we don't get dragged into it. Until we have another Boston bombing or bigger mass attack, no one will care or demand action. The Left gives only a "we do nothing or it's war" farce, as if there aren't a multitude of ways to fight terrorism and Putin's lust for a renewed USSR that don't involve ground troops. Never mind the fact we can arm opposition in Arab nations and/or E. Europe. Obama won't intervene (nor should he) when Putin takes chunks of Ukraine but he also refuses to arm them for self defense. As far back as 2nd grade, my dad always told me to grab a rock or my belt if someone bigger threatened. He didn't know I also had a Cub Scout knife I'd found in the schoolyard, LOL.
It's humiliating to see Putin strutting around like a fighting rooster, while our Ditherer-in-Chief caves repeatedly and keeps sounding weaker than Neville Chamberlain. I look at how the USSR's demise was greatly accelerated by the words & actions of Reagan, Lady Thatcher & Pope John Paul II. Then I see the pathetic resets, red lines, supplications and capitulations of Obama, Kerry & the new socialist Pope. It's truly sickening to see the greatest nation on earth, with the most powerful military, get slapped around by Vlad the Runt. Our so called Middle East allies are scared to death and have no respect or confidence in us, whatsoever-why should they? Even Bibi has found himself going to Putin for dialogue. Western Europe is reaping what they sowed when they refused to lift a finger. The tsunami of refugees is staggering and they will lose their identity & sovereignty the more they get inundated with unskilled Muslim hordes who will not assimilate but will drain their economies.
Then we move to the 2016 race and the feckless GOP "leadership". Boo Hoo, McRINO and their sycophants still don't get it. They refuse to see that their base does not want Jeb Bush, Graham or Kasich in the WH. The top 2 polling are glaringly non-politicians and voters are more than willing to put them in power vs. the so called "professionals". I sincerely hope we also have a house cleaning in both legislative chambers. If the last 2 GOP presidential contenders were weak, the majority in House & Senate are beyond pathetic. On the other side we have Her Thighness, Comrade Sanders & Bite Me, who still hasn't taken a bite of the presidential sweepstakes apple. I have to LOL when I hear the liberal pundits gushing over how well HRC did in her debate debut. It was a totally rigged suckupfest where the men agreed to go easy on her, Sanders might as well have been her seat cushion! This sham reminds me elections in the old USSR, Cuba, PRC, or N. Korea. The dictator in power is certain to stay there but they mock up rivals, much like the Washington Generals, who always managed to lose to the Globetrotters. Nevertheless, the fact these others are running, and the Dem Establishment wants Bernie, is proof they're scared that HRC will choke again, as she did in 2008. When you're begging a moronic dolt like Biden to run, it's clearly desperation. The idea that Sanders is an outsider is ridiculous. He's been in govt. his entire life and is a de facto Democrat in all his votes, socialist moniker aside. Ck. out SNL's  parody of Bernie & the exophthalmic Hillary.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXm3giVUsDk
How about that race for Speaker? The Establishment is scrambling to find another RINO like Boo Hoo, who can cave to Obama and use the will of the voters for Charmin. Boo Hoo thought his butt boy, Kevin McCarthy, was in the bag-until the imbecile opened his mouth and gave Hillary a temporary free pass on Benghazi. Are the hearings political? Of course they are, just like Watergate and Iran-Contra were. 7 investigations where no evidence was put forward are irrelevant. If HRC calls it Benghazi & Emailgate witch hunts, she's certainly doing her best as the witch. BTW, if the people care so little ("at this point, what difference does it make?!") about  Benghazi, why were Hillary's poll numbers affected? I think it was that but mostly the fact she's totally inept, corrupt, nasty and  not charismatic. The TV debate ratings were not good for the Dems, they had half the numbers the GOP got. Yes, they offer up bigger streaming numbers for Dems as a leveling factor, but who does that the most? You got it, millennials, aka the young & stupid. They are not happy to be forced to live in mom & dad's house and not finding jobs. They aren't signing up for Obamacare, despite the best efforts of Pajama Boy, and I really don't see them turning out big for HRC. As always, we must never underestimate the GOP's talent for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Any way we slice it, the next 12 months are gonna be a hoot!

"100% Dental Issue: Frank & Carlos"

Hello, my friends, you may recall that last post was sent as my usual issue, along with a link to a purely dental post re: LECOM's dental program. That same letter was just featured in TFDA (pg. 62), the FDA's monthly publication, and has already received backlash from members who disagree. Apparently they disagree so strongly that they upbraided the editor for publishing my piece! Funny how liberals will extol the virtues of the 1st amendment, until it's used to express any dialogue that does not fit their narrative. If you missed it, the piece I'm referring to is titled "Is Dentistry Already Succumbing to the New Normal?", you can look it up and check it out. I've been a reader of TFDA for decades and don't ever recall an editor feeling the need to mass email the entire membership with a list of the guidelines which determine what gets printed and what does not, as well as defend his decision. Most of you probably saw that email, several emailed me, asking what was the big deal with my piece? I just received a strong rebuttal from former UFCD Dean, Dr. Frank Catalanotto. I'll reprint it below, then give you my take.

I had some comments about Dr. Sanchez’s recent Letter to the Editor in the July/August 2015 Today’s FDA.  My comments should in no way imply endorsement of his comments about LECOM dental school; I do not know enough about LECOM to agree or disagree with his comments. However, I do question his equating the LECOM dental student’s statement that “she had no aspirations of ever having her own practice, was fine with being an employee and readily accepted dental therapists as part of the dental team” with the conclusion that “the (dental) schools should aim high, not for the lowest common denominator”.  That disparaging comment makes no sense to me and is unkind to dental schools and to students who think that way.  Maybe Dr. Sanchez has not read the reports for the ADA Policy Center showing the increasing trend of dentists be to employees rather than practice owners.  Just because these dentists choose that way to practice their profession as opposed to what Dr. Sanchez has chosen does not mean they are “the lowest common denominator”.  Does Dr. Sanchez have any evidence that being an employee dentist actually equates with poor quality?  If he does, please share it with us. Career choices are personal, professional and financial decisions that have nothing to do with quality.

What also bothered me was the implication that “dental therapists” are equated with “the lowest common denominator”.  Maybe this student read the extensive literature about dental therapists being safe, high quality and cost effective members of the dental team?   Maybe this student attended the UFCD ASDA organized day of learning this past spring about  alternative dental workforce models including dental therapists and found the arguments of the proponents intellectually honest and convincing.  Maybe this student found out that Minnesota dentists are employing these therapists, increasing the numbers of Medicaid enrolled patients in their practices, and at the same time, allowing the dentists to practice at the top of their professional skill set, and to make more money.  Dr. Sanchez’s statement implies that dental therapists are not good members of the dental team; if he has any evidence to support this opinion of his, I would love to see such evidence. I will be happy to point him to factual evidence supporting this student’s (and my) opinions.

The most offensive statement in Dr. Sanchez’s letter was in point # 5, implying (but not actually stating this) that encouraging dental students to become Medicaid providers was somehow reaching for the “lowest common denominator”.  That is truly offensive to both dentists who do treat Medicaid patients and to Medicaid patients. That kind of statement correlates with our team’s recent finding of a “social stigma” associated with being a Medicaid provider in Florida dentists (Logan, HL, Guo, Y, Marks, J, Dharamsi, S, and Catalanotto, FA, Barriers to Medicaid Participation among Florida Dentists. Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved. 2015;26(1):154-67. PMID25792734 .
Sincerely,
Frank Catalanotto, DMD

Let me begin by pointing out how many times Dr. C (for brevity, not disrespect) cites implication. Most of you have known me for years, read B-L, seen me in the HOD, and know I never imply- I say what I mean and mean what I say. Not once in my letter do I make the correlation of lcd (lowest common denominator) tied to my opinions about DHATs or dental students. If anything, I've devoted most of my advocacy energies to fighting the onslaught of unfair obstacles our future dentists face. Dr. C should ask our GAO team how many years and with what intensity I've been speaking out for loan forgiveness, removing clinical instructors who can't even pass NB 1&2, or stopping 50+ Cuban dental grads (in CA) from coming to FL and sitting for ADEX without any US dental training. That dental instructor issue was made a FL law, thanks to my advocacy in both House & Senate, with the help of dedicated legislators. That happened after a BOD member asked me to testify before them, much to the consternation of those who really didn't wanna hear it. I quickly realized the system was not interested in fixing itself and went the legislative route.
Maybe Dr. C thinks I'm unaware of the "choice" many new dentists make to practice in the corporate model. Sadly, I'm all too aware and know this is less a choice and more a necessity. It's what happens when a student gets minimal clinical experience, along with the lack of confidence that brings, and faces staggering debt that can easily range from $350,000 to half a $million! Tuition debt, in general, increased 46% from 2001-2012 and has doubled under Obama to $1.2 trillion. Imagine dental tuition? We have older, established programs graduating dentists with 2 anterior endos, do we wonder why so many feel the need to enter GPR programs? No bank will lend any $ to these young, indebted, high risk borrowers. I left USC in 1984 and plunged right into a full time satellite office in Indio, CA, with an in-house denture lab and 30 pts. per day. When I left to return to FL, in 1986, they had to hire 2 youngsters to do my job. What pre-dental student applies with the "dream" of making $70,000 working for McDentist? If you look at their loan debt vs. earnings, no bank would approve the same amount for a home loan. It's ironic that LECOM talks about self instruction and motivation but produces graduates who will work with someone looking over their shoulder. We bring the best, brightest and most gifted dental clinicians to our local, state and national meetings to share their talents and impart their wisdom, not to have few options aside from assembly line workers with no self determinism. That, my friends, is where the lcd lies. The deck is rigged against these new dentists from day one.
As for the UFCD/ ASDA Day, the report I got from colleagues who attended and FDA staff was that the students were none too pleased to be lectured to by proponents of the nationalist dental concept. Among them was one from CO who pounded home the "DHATs are here to stay" message as well as "we need to do something about the under served who don't trust providers who don't look like them", talk about offensive and disparaging!
Dr. C speaks lovingly of the DHAT model, one that has yet to reduce the incidence of dental disease, merely offering a cheaper way to drill it out. He also admits the real agenda behind DHATs, let them tackle the poor with lower skills than a dentist, then have the dentist do the big $ stuff. The  only ones who "make more $" in McDentist are the bosses who run the youngsters and often own many practices, a scam they pull off via crony capitalism and a permissive dental practice act. The DHAT concept is not new, if it were so great, we'd have it everywhere. BTW, Dr. C's views on DHATs are at odds with most of his colleagues, including the current ADA President. He erroneously infers what I did not imply, that Medicaid providers are inferior or the lcd. My question #5 reads "since when did it become the primary mission of dental programs to train students to become employees of Medicaid or corporate masters?" Note to Dr. C, the biggest stigma to working for the govt. is not social, it's financial and regulatory. If that weren't the case, they'd have a waiting list of dentists wanting to sign up, wouldn't they? One way the DHAT option is made  more attractive is by graduating dentists with little clinical experience, that blurs the distinction.
In closing, I realize Dr. C and I come from very different dental backgrounds and will probably never agree on most of these points. But I'll bet Frank dinner at Bern's most FDA members agree with me, not him. That would be a good poll to take, via email blast.

"Southern Discomfort & Sanctuary Cities"

Hello, my friends, what a tumultuous summer we're having! Just when the remnants of the Charleston church massacre were fading, we have another white trash scumbag shooting innocents in a LA movie theater. I think this had some copycat aspect, given the 3-year (July 20) anniversary and sentencing of the other homicidal savage from the Aurora, CO, who killed so many in a movie theater there. None of this is a surprise, this loser had vandalized a home he was to be evicted from, even booby trapped it to explode, but, nah, he wasn't dangerous!

There were many other warning signs and arrests, but the bureaucrats just failed to connect the dots and provide red flags to prohibit his gun purchase. I thought after the infamous Jamie Gorelick Wall that kept the CIA & FBI from inter-communicating and enabled 9-11, this nation had learned its lesson. Okay, I guess not. Inter agency ego and rivalry are much more important than public safety.

Until this nation takes some of the $ wasted on social engineering (hint: black poverty rate is unchanged after $ trillions on Great Society & War on Poverty) and builds more prisons & nut houses, we will simply have to learn to live with this Sword of Damocles over our heads. Letting loose the mentally ill, especially those who are criminally inclined, while hoping they'll take their meds and behave, is delusional and pure folly. Nearly every mass murderer  has this common thread, look them up if you doubt me.
We also got a chance to see liberal policies at their most disastrous in SF, the city by the bay where singers used to leave their hearts. But this time, a lovely 32-year-old woman left her life on the Embarcadero Pier #14. Folks, that's the SF equivalent to our Bayside. At least this sub human troll didn't buy the pistol legally, what a relief! No, it was stolen in a car burglary from a Federal agent. Of course, the agent's not permitted to talk about it. If it was one of us, the incompetent alphabet agencies would be probing our every nook & cranny, along with the media hounding us 24/7. Why would anyone leave a firearm in a car, especially a Fed who's licensed to carry?! There are conflicting accounts as to whether it was his service pistol or a back up, as if that even matters.
Sanctuary cities are just that, refuge for the vermin, lawless and predators among the illegal aliens. Yes, most of them come here to do the "jobs Americans won't do" and send much of their earnings back home. But when you let in the dog, flies will follow. That was the case in the 1980 Mariel boat lift, thank you Peanut Brain! In order to let Cubans bring their loved ones, Jimbo had to bend over and let Fidel send the real life casts of Scarface & Cocaine Cowboys. Carter must be breathing a sigh of relief, Obama is even more inept in the face of evil and makes worse deals than Mariel or the Panama Canal, by a long shot. This issue is already causing a stir and supporting Kate's Law has become a litmus test that scares the RINOs and terrifies the Dems. If the GOP can muster the nads to make Luis Sanchez the new Willy Horton, it could really help them in 2016.

The only thing more sickening than this murder was the way the so called "authorities" in SF circled the wagons and arrogantly refused to accept any complicity, given their very policies allowed this to monster to enter at will and kill the innocent. This one's my favorite:

Here's supreme arrogance by those who feel they are above the very people who elect them, on full display.

I guess the fact FNC is the undisputed #1 is irrelevant to Scotty, the only thing not real here is the idea he's part of the city's leadership. God, I'd love to have 5 minutes alone in an alley with this Pajama Boy! See Wiener & the original Pajama Boy, side by side, below. It's painfully clear the sanctuary city mentality is that an occasional murder of someone whose only crime was to walk outside is completely acceptable, in order to get the votes of the perpetual Hispanic underclass. In the end, I'll bet all these twerps in SF get reelected. The only problem with people getting the govt. they deserve is it often hurts those who deserve it the least. I wonder if the person shot had been the sister or daughter of one the SF Supervisors, would they be so flippant or evasive? With liberals, the answer is probably YES, it's a mental disorder and trumps all else, in the minds of its minions. At least Obama is consistent in his actions, which are the only way to really know what his priorities are. He went to visit the parents of thugs like Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin, but won't go anywhere near Kate Steinle's parents. In other words, never waste a tragedy that can advance your agenda, but ignore any that exposes and hinders it.

Say what you will about Iran, but at least I believe they'd probably flog these two weenies in a soccer stadium before cheering throngs.
I won't waste much space on Cuba, it's as good as any Obama deal to date. Between the Putin reset, the vanishing red line in Syria, the Bergdahl capitulation, and 5 top Cuban spies for an old man whose own attorney flies the Che Guevara flag above his desk, I guess Barry saved the best for last. Let's facilitate Iran going nuclear, why don't we? Then they'll be poised to bomb the only nation Obama loathes more than Great Britain- Israel. Of course, he'll be long gone when the inevitable STHF, as will be the case with most of the dire consequences that will follow his failed presidency.
On the dental front, we missed twice with the FL lawmakers. They not only got nothing done re: funding our bills during the regular session, they also failed us in special session. It's really hard to ask our members and students to go to DDOH when these folks can't even manage to move beyond one-party gridlock. The next DDOH is in Feb., maybe the colder weather will slap them into action. I urge any of you who are LCDs or otherwise in touch with the state House & Senate to tell them how disappointing and inexcusable their inaction was. Then we wonder why so many people don't even bother to vote?
