"America's Death Spiral By PC"

To paraphrase Jerry Lee Lewis, "there's a whole lotta killin' goin' on!" Last week we had the Planned Parenthood mass shooter, which I think was a false flag Manchurian Candidate event staged to be a perfect segue from the pre-Thanksgiving DNC talking points about how we should take the time during Thanksgiving, of all things, to have a conversation with our nutty uncle or other right wing loon relative who supports the 2nd amendment. I know you must think it's crazy to suggest these things are staged for political agenda advancement, that's exactly why they get away with it.

Still don't believe me? Watch the first minute of this video, right after the camera leaves Deputy Large Marge, and keep your eyes on the face of the "victim', it's flesh tone plastic, like we use for CPR courses.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDxoCz-M3Fk
You may also recall the left couldn't wait to jump on this a domestic terror attack by what they framed as a bible thumping yahoo who left his Una Bomber cabin to wreak havoc on dem city slickers, as he commented "no more baby body parts". Now let's look at the latest massacre of the week.
This one was clearly Islamic terror and, of course it's no surprise that neither Obama, his lackeys or accomplice media will admit the truth. Even though CNN has been forced to admit the couple was radicalized, she pledged allegiance to ISIS, and their rented house was more like a terrorist hotbed than home, they still won't call it what we all know it is- Islamic terrorism come to our shores. And why won't they admit this? Maybe because Obama et al have been promoting a total lie since Bite Me bragged that Usma Bin Laden is dead and GM is alive. Or maybe the fact Obama was telling the nation how ISIS was contained, 9 hours before the Paris massacres, or the fact he knew of no US threat, right before this week's terrorist attack. So the hypocrisy is legion- when it's a white Christian shooter, the cry of terrorism immediately goes out. when it's a Muslim, they do more contortions than Houdini to avoid the truth. If the GOP can't win the WH in 2016, they need to hang themselves by long ropes over some DC overpass.
We have a cancer called PC that is paralyzing and slowly killing this nation. Even this monster's neighbor, who saw Middle East men in a rented house unloading massive packages at all hours, was afraid to call police. Why? Because he didn't wanna profile or sound racist. WTH is wrong with people?! Even terrorist apologist, Obama, has gone on TV to tell us "if you see something, say something". You don't get more PC and wimpy than the French, but they're taking aggressive actions like closing mosques and going house to house in the Muslim ghetto where this vermin hides and stocks its weapons.
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/03/world/europe/france-shuts-down-three-mosques-and-four-muslim-prayer-rooms.html?_r=0
These mosques are centers for radicalization of future terrorists and giving the blessing for this atrocity by Imams who should be men of God, not inciters of genocide. Remember Obama's mocking of the GOP for supposedly being afraid of Middle East widows, women & children? This woman helped massacre 14 innocent victims, way to go, Barry! What a testament to the complete ineptitude of our govt.to properly vet these people who come as refugees. Let's not forget that Anwar Al Awlaki once led Muslim prayers in the Pentagon.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1322397/Al-Qaedas-Anwar-Al-Awlaki-invited-Pentagon-lunch-9-11-attacks.html
The Farook family lawyers are on TV basically blaming the victims, the nation and suggesting this attack has no ties to terrorism or radical Islam. They're upset that the terrorist's poor, innocent mother was grilled for hours by the FBI. What they never mentioned is that mother lived upstairs in the same house that was basically a weapons, ammo depot & pipe bomb factory! The deflect and obfuscate machine is in full CYA mode. CAIR (which is really the American chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood) is also out doing spin sessions with the all too willing accomplice media. They worry about anti-Muslim backlash? Too bad the facts are not with them. Twice as many hate crimes last year, in the US, were directed at Jews, not Muslims. This is all about deflecting attention from the real issue of the American population under assault and pushing for gun control to make it even easier for the terrorists. Maybe Obama could do an executive order so no Muslim can buy a firearm? No, of course not, they're not the ones he wants to disarm. The targeting of a small place like SB is to send the message that ISIS will go beyond NYC, L.A., or SF and even Small Town, USA is not safe. I think this issue is and will continue to be front & center in the 2016 elections, not good for the Dems. But I also think as long as we have the Muslim-in-Chief in the WH, nothing will be done to seriously confront the issue. Remember, when seconds count, police are minutes away. Do whatever you're comfortable with to protect yourselves and stay alert & safe.
A brief dental update. Our bill to prevent hygienists from obtaining the ability to get provider numbers and bill Medicaid is getting support in both the House & Senate. This is a good start for the upcoming session and we need to stay on top of our 3-4 issues. DDOH is 2 months earlier this year, early Feb.

"The Young & Stupid Gone Wild!"

Yes, they are, going crazy on many of the nation's college campuses. We are raising (more like pampering & coddling) a generation of wussified, entitled, lazy malcontents who possess zero abilities to enact the very tolerance they hypocritically demand, as well as compete with their foreign counterparts. Our colleges are no longer about teaching skills for life, they're all about PC, victimhood and liberal indoctrination. This is the first generation of Americans who will under achieve the accomplishments attained by their parents. Sadly, I've seen this achievement shortfall in the kids of some of my friends & colleagues, though none of those kids are anarchists or rabble rousers. We have precious snowflakes who believe the nation has wronged them and owes them from cradle to grave. They are right about one thing, we do owe them a swift kick in the glutes. They place their feelings and sensitivities above all else, as if the real world and life were that accommodating.
Here's a great satire on the insanity gripping our society- reader warning: 2-3 "bad words" are used.
http://www.theonion.com/article/parents-dedicate-new-college-safe-space-honor-daug-50851
It's one thing to protest unfairness but to shut down a campus because someone may have said something mean, is total BS. These spoiled brats feel they can even demand what curriculum is offered. Then, of course, their next step will be to demand we provide them jobs for useless degrees consisting of useless, touchy feely, PC curriculum. Enter OWS. Mizzou is a particular joke, seems they were held hostage by a crappy football team who can't win the Toilet Bowl, Pasta Bowl or Salad Bowl. If Mizzou had suspended the entire team, evicted them from their varsity dorms and taken back their "footballship" $, this would have ended soon. Reagan dealt with this anarchy decades ago, as Gov. of CA with radicals at UC Berkeley, the mecca of dysfunctional, militant liberalism. He called out the Natl. Guard and put the lice infested, unbathed miscreants in their place. The Pres. & Chancellor of Mizzou who stepped down in the face of these punks are spineless, they need gonad injections, stat! Meanwhile, the graduates of these schools rank far lower than their counterparts in other, often far poorer, nations. This is a cumulative deficiency that starts in grade school and piles up as they proceed to be dumbed down. If we don't get a firm handle on this fast, we're gonna see mass chaos in a majority of our campuses, as this cancer metastisizes. Make no mistake, my friends, this is all about advancing a socialist agenda and encroaching on our freedoms. The left knows they can't win the argument in the open arena of ideas and discourse, so they can only attempt to silence dissent. These useful idiots are puppets for people like Soros and like minded anti-Americans. See for yourselves if you doubt me, we are in a civil war, folks!

Here's the student body turned mob, along with one of the cackling faculty harpies basically incite a riot when faced with, of all things, the 1st amendment. She may have resigned her courtesy appointment but still works there. Why isn't she in jail?!

I wanna switch to illegal dentistry.  A colleague of mine recently asked me for ULA (Unlicensed Activity) info. He saw a pt. who'd been to an illegal dentist who placed an acrylic fixed bridge which soon came loose. He also charged the man as if it was ceramic, LOL. But the kicker is, he refused to refund the patient's $. When the pt. contacted ULA, he was given every run around, barrier and made to jump through every hoop conceivable. Then we wonder why people won't come forward or follow through? They finally opened a case against this guy, who turned out not to even be a dentist. He's a hack lab tech, called "mecanico dental" in the Republic of Miami, He "practices" in a shopping center on a busy street, no hidden apt. or garage here. He's also on govt. handouts, gotta love America! Those of you around the state who might laugh at our banana republic need to remember illegal practice tends to grow wherever minorities live, especially Hispanic. That means we're no longer in Miami, Toto. If we don't get ULA to be more victim and rule of law friendly, it will only empower illegality and discourage proper action to be taken by the rest of us.
Let's close with ADA stuff. This week, our own Irene Marron won the election for ADA Vice-President!! I don't remember the last time FL was so highly represented at the ADA level, and I've been an FDA delegate since 1994. I know there was some controversy about Irene's decision to run. Some in the delegation felt it was premature, that it might hurt our chances to elect an ADA Pres. in the near future. I never did see the logic against a hard working ADA veep doing a great job, making FL proud and setting the table for another FL holder of higher office to be elected in a favorable atmosphere. The only reason that wait & see mindset would compute would be if the rest of the ADA delegation also felt the same way our FL naysayers did. Well, it's obvious the conventional wisdom was proven wrong, since no one from any state can win without adequate support from the rest of the nation. I certainly hope Irene had the votes of ALL our 17th District ADA delegates. We need to worry less about who colors outside the lines or when they do it, and focus on who can win. For those of you who may not like my take, or think I'm wrong, let me remind you our own Cesar Sabates was once told "you're not ready" in reference to his run for FDA Pres. Any questions? In the past, FL has run 2 highly qualified candidates for ADA Pres. who lost big. Call me loco, but doesn't that bear an eerie resemblance to the GOP's problems in presidential elections? Let's stop making the same mistakes.

"Cirque du DC"

Hi folks, it's been 2 months-those pesky vacations are a distraction. So much has happened, yes DC is now in full circus mode. But, let's start with dentistry. If any of you saw the last issue of TFDA, you know my piece on LECOM (previous TFDA) truly hit a nerve. Some of my colleagues warned me that if I stabbed the sacred cow of some, there'd be a backlash. Well, there was. Most of the wagon circling reponse was from my panhandler (geographic adjective, not suggesting any of them are hobos) colleagues. Of course, it's no coincidence De Funiak Springs ( LECOM's FL based extramural clinic) is in the panhandle. They made some salient points, as did the LECOM student, it's just that so much of what they told me is there somehow escaped the eyes of our ADA Delegation who went there. Look, I don't wanna close them down, I just want what's best for students, who are the future of our profession. I know the former Nova Asst. Dean went from angrily barking into the mic at the BOD hearing after I testified, "those claims are all blatantly false and totally unsubstantiated!" to "look, if we're doing anything wrong let's sit down, talk about it and fix it" His epiphany took place in 2 short months, from Feb. ( BOD meeting) to when I next saw him at DDOH in April of 2014. I hope some of my ADA delegate pals will step up and weigh in if they also find inconsistencies. It gets tiring, fighting the fights of others who report but decline commenting. Any of you who know me also know I'm an ardent supporter and defender of dental students. I've stood up for them in the past and will do so again. I hope LECOM really does create and sustain a truly exceptional program, it's the only reason a school should open and operate, IMO. BTW, we have a real mess in Community Smiles, a topic for future discussion. To quote Forrest Gump, that's all I have to say about that.
Now, about that circus. We have a Pres. who's in such retreat, he's running faster than Air Force 1 can keep up! I know he'll get away with it, short term, because the Middle East is such an irreparable toilet and Americans are beyond war weary. They don't care who gets massacred, burned alive, beheaded etc. as long as we don't get dragged into it. Until we have another Boston bombing or bigger mass attack, no one will care or demand action. The Left gives only a "we do nothing or it's war" farce, as if there aren't a multitude of ways to fight terrorism and Putin's lust for a renewed USSR that don't involve ground troops. Never mind the fact we can arm opposition in Arab nations and/or E. Europe. Obama won't intervene (nor should he) when Putin takes chunks of Ukraine but he also refuses to arm them for self defense. As far back as 2nd grade, my dad always told me to grab a rock or my belt if someone bigger threatened. He didn't know I also had a Cub Scout knife I'd found in the schoolyard, LOL.
It's humiliating to see Putin strutting around like a fighting rooster, while our Ditherer-in-Chief caves repeatedly and keeps sounding weaker than Neville Chamberlain. I look at how the USSR's demise was greatly accelerated by the words & actions of Reagan, Lady Thatcher & Pope John Paul II. Then I see the pathetic resets, red lines, supplications and capitulations of Obama, Kerry & the new socialist Pope. It's truly sickening to see the greatest nation on earth, with the most powerful military, get slapped around by Vlad the Runt. Our so called Middle East allies are scared to death and have no respect or confidence in us, whatsoever-why should they? Even Bibi has found himself going to Putin for dialogue. Western Europe is reaping what they sowed when they refused to lift a finger. The tsunami of refugees is staggering and they will lose their identity & sovereignty the more they get inundated with unskilled Muslim hordes who will not assimilate but will drain their economies.
Then we move to the 2016 race and the feckless GOP "leadership". Boo Hoo, McRINO and their sycophants still don't get it. They refuse to see that their base does not want Jeb Bush, Graham or Kasich in the WH. The top 2 polling are glaringly non-politicians and voters are more than willing to put them in power vs. the so called "professionals". I sincerely hope we also have a house cleaning in both legislative chambers. If the last 2 GOP presidential contenders were weak, the majority in House & Senate are beyond pathetic. On the other side we have Her Thighness, Comrade Sanders & Bite Me, who still hasn't taken a bite of the presidential sweepstakes apple. I have to LOL when I hear the liberal pundits gushing over how well HRC did in her debate debut. It was a totally rigged suckupfest where the men agreed to go easy on her, Sanders might as well have been her seat cushion! This sham reminds me elections in the old USSR, Cuba, PRC, or N. Korea. The dictator in power is certain to stay there but they mock up rivals, much like the Washington Generals, who always managed to lose to the Globetrotters. Nevertheless, the fact these others are running, and the Dem Establishment wants Bernie, is proof they're scared that HRC will choke again, as she did in 2008. When you're begging a moronic dolt like Biden to run, it's clearly desperation. The idea that Sanders is an outsider is ridiculous. He's been in govt. his entire life and is a de facto Democrat in all his votes, socialist moniker aside. Ck. out SNL's  parody of Bernie & the exophthalmic Hillary.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXm3giVUsDk
How about that race for Speaker? The Establishment is scrambling to find another RINO like Boo Hoo, who can cave to Obama and use the will of the voters for Charmin. Boo Hoo thought his butt boy, Kevin McCarthy, was in the bag-until the imbecile opened his mouth and gave Hillary a temporary free pass on Benghazi. Are the hearings political? Of course they are, just like Watergate and Iran-Contra were. 7 investigations where no evidence was put forward are irrelevant. If HRC calls it Benghazi & Emailgate witch hunts, she's certainly doing her best as the witch. BTW, if the people care so little ("at this point, what difference does it make?!") about  Benghazi, why were Hillary's poll numbers affected? I think it was that but mostly the fact she's totally inept, corrupt, nasty and  not charismatic. The TV debate ratings were not good for the Dems, they had half the numbers the GOP got. Yes, they offer up bigger streaming numbers for Dems as a leveling factor, but who does that the most? You got it, millennials, aka the young & stupid. They are not happy to be forced to live in mom & dad's house and not finding jobs. They aren't signing up for Obamacare, despite the best efforts of Pajama Boy, and I really don't see them turning out big for HRC. As always, we must never underestimate the GOP's talent for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Any way we slice it, the next 12 months are gonna be a hoot!

"100% Dental Issue: Frank & Carlos"

Hello, my friends, you may recall that last post was sent as my usual issue, along with a link to a purely dental post re: LECOM's dental program. That same letter was just featured in TFDA (pg. 62), the FDA's monthly publication, and has already received backlash from members who disagree. Apparently they disagree so strongly that they upbraided the editor for publishing my piece! Funny how liberals will extol the virtues of the 1st amendment, until it's used to express any dialogue that does not fit their narrative. If you missed it, the piece I'm referring to is titled "Is Dentistry Already Succumbing to the New Normal?", you can look it up and check it out. I've been a reader of TFDA for decades and don't ever recall an editor feeling the need to mass email the entire membership with a list of the guidelines which determine what gets printed and what does not, as well as defend his decision. Most of you probably saw that email, several emailed me, asking what was the big deal with my piece? I just received a strong rebuttal from former UFCD Dean, Dr. Frank Catalanotto. I'll reprint it below, then give you my take.

I had some comments about Dr. Sanchez’s recent Letter to the Editor in the July/August 2015 Today’s FDA.  My comments should in no way imply endorsement of his comments about LECOM dental school; I do not know enough about LECOM to agree or disagree with his comments. However, I do question his equating the LECOM dental student’s statement that “she had no aspirations of ever having her own practice, was fine with being an employee and readily accepted dental therapists as part of the dental team” with the conclusion that “the (dental) schools should aim high, not for the lowest common denominator”.  That disparaging comment makes no sense to me and is unkind to dental schools and to students who think that way.  Maybe Dr. Sanchez has not read the reports for the ADA Policy Center showing the increasing trend of dentists be to employees rather than practice owners.  Just because these dentists choose that way to practice their profession as opposed to what Dr. Sanchez has chosen does not mean they are “the lowest common denominator”.  Does Dr. Sanchez have any evidence that being an employee dentist actually equates with poor quality?  If he does, please share it with us. Career choices are personal, professional and financial decisions that have nothing to do with quality.

What also bothered me was the implication that “dental therapists” are equated with “the lowest common denominator”.  Maybe this student read the extensive literature about dental therapists being safe, high quality and cost effective members of the dental team?   Maybe this student attended the UFCD ASDA organized day of learning this past spring about  alternative dental workforce models including dental therapists and found the arguments of the proponents intellectually honest and convincing.  Maybe this student found out that Minnesota dentists are employing these therapists, increasing the numbers of Medicaid enrolled patients in their practices, and at the same time, allowing the dentists to practice at the top of their professional skill set, and to make more money.  Dr. Sanchez’s statement implies that dental therapists are not good members of the dental team; if he has any evidence to support this opinion of his, I would love to see such evidence. I will be happy to point him to factual evidence supporting this student’s (and my) opinions.

The most offensive statement in Dr. Sanchez’s letter was in point # 5, implying (but not actually stating this) that encouraging dental students to become Medicaid providers was somehow reaching for the “lowest common denominator”.  That is truly offensive to both dentists who do treat Medicaid patients and to Medicaid patients. That kind of statement correlates with our team’s recent finding of a “social stigma” associated with being a Medicaid provider in Florida dentists (Logan, HL, Guo, Y, Marks, J, Dharamsi, S, and Catalanotto, FA, Barriers to Medicaid Participation among Florida Dentists. Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved. 2015;26(1):154-67. PMID25792734 .
Sincerely,
Frank Catalanotto, DMD

Let me begin by pointing out how many times Dr. C (for brevity, not disrespect) cites implication. Most of you have known me for years, read B-L, seen me in the HOD, and know I never imply- I say what I mean and mean what I say. Not once in my letter do I make the correlation of lcd (lowest common denominator) tied to my opinions about DHATs or dental students. If anything, I've devoted most of my advocacy energies to fighting the onslaught of unfair obstacles our future dentists face. Dr. C should ask our GAO team how many years and with what intensity I've been speaking out for loan forgiveness, removing clinical instructors who can't even pass NB 1&2, or stopping 50+ Cuban dental grads (in CA) from coming to FL and sitting for ADEX without any US dental training. That dental instructor issue was made a FL law, thanks to my advocacy in both House & Senate, with the help of dedicated legislators. That happened after a BOD member asked me to testify before them, much to the consternation of those who really didn't wanna hear it. I quickly realized the system was not interested in fixing itself and went the legislative route.
Maybe Dr. C thinks I'm unaware of the "choice" many new dentists make to practice in the corporate model. Sadly, I'm all too aware and know this is less a choice and more a necessity. It's what happens when a student gets minimal clinical experience, along with the lack of confidence that brings, and faces staggering debt that can easily range from $350,000 to half a $million! Tuition debt, in general, increased 46% from 2001-2012 and has doubled under Obama to $1.2 trillion. Imagine dental tuition? We have older, established programs graduating dentists with 2 anterior endos, do we wonder why so many feel the need to enter GPR programs? No bank will lend any $ to these young, indebted, high risk borrowers. I left USC in 1984 and plunged right into a full time satellite office in Indio, CA, with an in-house denture lab and 30 pts. per day. When I left to return to FL, in 1986, they had to hire 2 youngsters to do my job. What pre-dental student applies with the "dream" of making $70,000 working for McDentist? If you look at their loan debt vs. earnings, no bank would approve the same amount for a home loan. It's ironic that LECOM talks about self instruction and motivation but produces graduates who will work with someone looking over their shoulder. We bring the best, brightest and most gifted dental clinicians to our local, state and national meetings to share their talents and impart their wisdom, not to have few options aside from assembly line workers with no self determinism. That, my friends, is where the lcd lies. The deck is rigged against these new dentists from day one.
As for the UFCD/ ASDA Day, the report I got from colleagues who attended and FDA staff was that the students were none too pleased to be lectured to by proponents of the nationalist dental concept. Among them was one from CO who pounded home the "DHATs are here to stay" message as well as "we need to do something about the under served who don't trust providers who don't look like them", talk about offensive and disparaging!
Dr. C speaks lovingly of the DHAT model, one that has yet to reduce the incidence of dental disease, merely offering a cheaper way to drill it out. He also admits the real agenda behind DHATs, let them tackle the poor with lower skills than a dentist, then have the dentist do the big $ stuff. The  only ones who "make more $" in McDentist are the bosses who run the youngsters and often own many practices, a scam they pull off via crony capitalism and a permissive dental practice act. The DHAT concept is not new, if it were so great, we'd have it everywhere. BTW, Dr. C's views on DHATs are at odds with most of his colleagues, including the current ADA President. He erroneously infers what I did not imply, that Medicaid providers are inferior or the lcd. My question #5 reads "since when did it become the primary mission of dental programs to train students to become employees of Medicaid or corporate masters?" Note to Dr. C, the biggest stigma to working for the govt. is not social, it's financial and regulatory. If that weren't the case, they'd have a waiting list of dentists wanting to sign up, wouldn't they? One way the DHAT option is made  more attractive is by graduating dentists with little clinical experience, that blurs the distinction.
In closing, I realize Dr. C and I come from very different dental backgrounds and will probably never agree on most of these points. But I'll bet Frank dinner at Bern's most FDA members agree with me, not him. That would be a good poll to take, via email blast.

"Southern Discomfort & Sanctuary Cities"

Hello, my friends, what a tumultuous summer we're having! Just when the remnants of the Charleston church massacre were fading, we have another white trash scumbag shooting innocents in a LA movie theater. I think this had some copycat aspect, given the 3-year (July 20) anniversary and sentencing of the other homicidal savage from the Aurora, CO, who killed so many in a movie theater there. None of this is a surprise, this loser had vandalized a home he was to be evicted from, even booby trapped it to explode, but, nah, he wasn't dangerous!
http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/2015/07/24/3827672/columbus-man-daughter-say-louisiana.html
There were many other warning signs and arrests, but the bureaucrats just failed to connect the dots and provide red flags to prohibit his gun purchase. I thought after the infamous Jamie Gorelick Wall that kept the CIA & FBI from inter-communicating and enabled 9-11, this nation had learned its lesson. Okay, I guess not. Inter agency ego and rivalry are much more important than public safety.
http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2008/09/mistress_of_disaster_jamie_gor.html
Until this nation takes some of the $ wasted on social engineering (hint: black poverty rate is unchanged after $ trillions on Great Society & War on Poverty) and builds more prisons & nut houses, we will simply have to learn to live with this Sword of Damocles over our heads. Letting loose the mentally ill, especially those who are criminally inclined, while hoping they'll take their meds and behave, is delusional and pure folly. Nearly every mass murderer  has this common thread, look them up if you doubt me.
We also got a chance to see liberal policies at their most disastrous in SF, the city by the bay where singers used to leave their hearts. But this time, a lovely 32-year-old woman left her life on the Embarcadero Pier #14. Folks, that's the SF equivalent to our Bayside. At least this sub human troll didn't buy the pistol legally, what a relief! No, it was stolen in a car burglary from a Federal agent. Of course, the agent's not permitted to talk about it. If it was one of us, the incompetent alphabet agencies would be probing our every nook & cranny, along with the media hounding us 24/7. Why would anyone leave a firearm in a car, especially a Fed who's licensed to carry?! There are conflicting accounts as to whether it was his service pistol or a back up, as if that even matters.
Sanctuary cities are just that, refuge for the vermin, lawless and predators among the illegal aliens. Yes, most of them come here to do the "jobs Americans won't do" and send much of their earnings back home. But when you let in the dog, flies will follow. That was the case in the 1980 Mariel boat lift, thank you Peanut Brain! In order to let Cubans bring their loved ones, Jimbo had to bend over and let Fidel send the real life casts of Scarface & Cocaine Cowboys. Carter must be breathing a sigh of relief, Obama is even more inept in the face of evil and makes worse deals than Mariel or the Panama Canal, by a long shot. This issue is already causing a stir and supporting Kate's Law has become a litmus test that scares the RINOs and terrifies the Dems. If the GOP can muster the nads to make Luis Sanchez the new Willy Horton, it could really help them in 2016.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_Horton
The only thing more sickening than this murder was the way the so called "authorities" in SF circled the wagons and arrogantly refused to accept any complicity, given their very policies allowed this to monster to enter at will and kill the innocent. This one's my favorite:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4PrN8YIEe8
Here's supreme arrogance by those who feel they are above the very people who elect them, on full display.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0daUPAAE6E0
I guess the fact FNC is the undisputed #1 is irrelevant to Scotty, the only thing not real here is the idea he's part of the city's leadership. God, I'd love to have 5 minutes alone in an alley with this Pajama Boy! See Wiener & the original Pajama Boy, side by side, below. It's painfully clear the sanctuary city mentality is that an occasional murder of someone whose only crime was to walk outside is completely acceptable, in order to get the votes of the perpetual Hispanic underclass. In the end, I'll bet all these twerps in SF get reelected. The only problem with people getting the govt. they deserve is it often hurts those who deserve it the least. I wonder if the person shot had been the sister or daughter of one the SF Supervisors, would they be so flippant or evasive? With liberals, the answer is probably YES, it's a mental disorder and trumps all else, in the minds of its minions. At least Obama is consistent in his actions, which are the only way to really know what his priorities are. He went to visit the parents of thugs like Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin, but won't go anywhere near Kate Steinle's parents. In other words, never waste a tragedy that can advance your agenda, but ignore any that exposes and hinders it.

Say what you will about Iran, but at least I believe they'd probably flog these two weenies in a soccer stadium before cheering throngs.
I won't waste much space on Cuba, it's as good as any Obama deal to date. Between the Putin reset, the vanishing red line in Syria, the Bergdahl capitulation, and 5 top Cuban spies for an old man whose own attorney flies the Che Guevara flag above his desk, I guess Barry saved the best for last. Let's facilitate Iran going nuclear, why don't we? Then they'll be poised to bomb the only nation Obama loathes more than Great Britain- Israel. Of course, he'll be long gone when the inevitable STHF, as will be the case with most of the dire consequences that will follow his failed presidency.
On the dental front, we missed twice with the FL lawmakers. They not only got nothing done re: funding our bills during the regular session, they also failed us in special session. It's really hard to ask our members and students to go to DDOH when these folks can't even manage to move beyond one-party gridlock. The next DDOH is in Feb., maybe the colder weather will slap them into action. I urge any of you who are LCDs or otherwise in touch with the state House & Senate to tell them how disappointing and inexcusable their inaction was. Then we wonder why so many people don't even bother to vote?

Is Dentistry Already Succumbing To The "New Normal"?

At this weekend’s HOD, we heard reports from the deans of FL’s 3 dental schools, beginning with the dean of LECOM. Since there was no time set aside to ask them any questions, here are the ones I would have loved to have asked LECOM’s Dean, Dr. Anton Gotlieb.
1)      Where are the indispensable specialist instructors to teach subjects like endo, perio, OMS, pedo and implant dentistry?
2)      Why was so much invested in a “state of the art facility” that still necessitates farming out your students to numerous places, including Erie, PA?
3)      What type of real world experience do students get when they depend on a mannequin (however “bionic” it may be) for the lion’s share of clinical procedures?
4)      How is a period of “intensive training” for D-1s to make dentures for patients any better than denturism, something FL roundly rejected in the 1990s and sent packing, never to return until LECOM rebranded and repackaged it?
5)      Since when did it become the primary mission of a dental program to train students to become employees of Medicaid or corporate masters?
While it was good to know LECOM grads had an excellent pass rate on ADEX, there’s a lot more to successfully practicing dentistry than passing an exam. I’ve taken issue in the past with schools for cutting corners with clinical faculty that haven’t even passed Natl. Boards Part 1. What we heard from LECOM isn’t merely cutting corners, it’s knocking down foundations! I truly feel for the unsuspecting graduates who don’t know what they don’t know, especially the fact the marketplace will sort them out without mercy or compassion. One of my colleagues spoke to a LECOM student who told her, in no uncertain terms, she had no aspirations of ever having her own practice, was fine being an employee and readily accepted DHATs as part of the dental team. While it’s the right of any dentist to decide where they work and what kind of professional life they will pursue, the schools should aim high, not for the lowest common denominator. While I speak strictly for myself, I can assure you my opinion was shared by every single delegate and trustee I asked. Meanwhile, we have an ADA that has only 2 seats on CODA and is unable to stop this downward spiral afflicting our profession. The FTC has made it clear they will go after us if we press the issue, but Big Ins. has the protection of McCarran-Ferguson and can collude, profile, exclude, price fix, etc. to their heart’s content. Every HOD we hear how ADPAC has been trying to repeal it for many years. So far, all we’ve gotten from Washington is a combination of lip service and Lucy pulling away the football from Charlie Brown. Big Govt. is hell bent on doing to dentistry what they’ve already done to medicine, optometry and pharmacology. We also heard from the ADA’s 1st Vice-Pres., Dr. Jonathan Shenkin, who told us the news on membership numbers is not good across the entire nation. Must we ask ourselves why? The AMA has a well deserved 20% market share, how much longer before we end up there? Our ADA has taken on insurance carriers in court, maybe we need to take on the FTC. Now, that would really skyrocket our membership numbers!

"Say Hello The SCOTUStution, Dixie & Rama Lama Ding Dong"

Hi, everybody, so much to report on! I saw many of you at our recent FDC and wanna start by commenting on the reports from the 3 deans of our FL dental schools. I found UF & NSU to be programs that are stable and advancing in very positive directions. I also found LECOM to be the biggest snow job and papering over I've ever heard from any program. There was so much wrong with the things, Dr. Gotlieb told us it made me and every other colleague I asked feel that they had some "splaining to do", something the format did not allow time for. So, in the interest of brevity, I'm attaching a piece I sent TFDA and want them to publish in the next issue, especially since most FDA members don't get this blog.
http://buccallingo.blogspot.com/2015/06/is-dentistry-already-succumbing-to-new.html
Now to the SCOTUStution. This week the SCOTUS decided that 9 unelected, lifetime nominees have the power to supplant our Constitution, alter language in any law they deem "ambiguous" and negate the majority votes of any state they consider too backward, along with the rights of said states to determine their destiny. I realize it's not their job to protect us from bad legislation or ignorant voters. But Obamacare was passed by one party, pulling every stunt and chicanery possible. Chief Justice Roberts has turned out to be an unapologetic tyrant who's seen fit to save this highly unpopular law twice, something unprecedented in our nation's history. Thank you G.W. Bush, you moron! For those who might be cheering this abuse of power and accusing me of sour grapes, remember this. A future GOP Pres. can load the SC with true conservatives, not stealth progressives like Roberts and Kennedy. It may not be too long before Ruth Buzzy Ginsberg either croaks or becomes incoherent and Brier could be in ALF Pampers faster than you can say "screw we the people". Then that court can be just as activist and go after things like Roe Vs. Wade or other liberal darlings of law. If and when that happens, the Left will be shrieking in protest and turn out their mostly unemployed voter base to clog our streets and mob shopping centers. As for the gay "marriage" decision, this issue is not about what it claims. If a same sex couple wants to redefine an institution that exists between 1 man & 1 woman, to feel like they're receiving equal status, so be it. Even traditional marriage, by its true definition, has taken a real beating in our increasingly self serving, irresponsible culture of nano second attention span and zero commitment. So, what's my problem with this movement? It's the fact they don't really believe in inclusion or tolerance. When the LGBT Gestapo or their sycophant news media  show up to a Muslim bakery, tailor, caterer, photographer, florist, wedding planner or reception hall and do the same ambush interview they did to the Christian pizzeria in IN, I'll give them credibility. When a CEO or other executive can say they believe marriage to be the union of 1 man + 1 woman and isn't fired, I'll declare the LGBT movement to have the same tolerance they lecture us about 24/7. But the far Left is never content to debate or have a real discussion on facts or merits. They cry tolerance but offer none to those who disagree with their views. Imagine if we ran our HOD that way? I realize all of us (myself included) have gay friends, colleagues, pts. and relatives, most of whom do not support militance. Speaking for myself, I've always felt I can have these types of discussions with any of them without it getting extreme, threatening or vindictive. I hope that never changes.
So, what am I referring to by Rama Lama...? It's the so called "holy month" of Ramadan. This period is so sacred and dear to its followers that they've been reminded by their clerics to make sure they kill as many infidels as possible during Rama Lama Ding Dong. No doubt this will earn them a seat closer to Allah and maybe even younger, hotter virgins to defile in paradise. The bonus points coupon clippers wasted little time, they've already pulled off attacks at a Tunisian beach resort, Kuwaiti mosque and French oil facility.

http://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/2015/06/26/bomb-strikes-shiite-mosque-in-kuwait
http://www.wsj.com/articles/french-chemical-factory-targeted-by-suspected-terror-attack-interior-ministry-says-1435311044
I'm sorry to sound like I'm blaming the victims, but why the hell would any European vacation in the Middle East, are they insane?! The mosque attack is yet another example of the "religion of peace", so peaceful they blow each other up in a manner not unlike Baptists blowing up a Catholic mass. Both of these mass atrocities were the work of Obama's famous J.V., aka ISIS. But he doesn't care and won't say much, let alone do much. Obama's made it clear his plan is to run out the clock and let the next Pres. deal with this, as well as all the other piles of dung he's created. The USA cannot be the world's police, to be fair, and nations like Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia & Jordan are gonna have to form a coalition and exterminate this vermin, or forever live in fear. It remains to be seen if they can overcome their own dysfunction, corruption and cowardice in the face of a truly vicious enemy. The third incident may be smaller in body count but a clear shot at American oil interests abroad and a reminder no European should hire Muslim employees. Let's end with Dixie.
The mindless barbarism of Dylann Roof was nothing but what we'd expect from racist, ignorant, hate-filled white trash. I only hope he gets a swift execution, he certainly deserves it and SC will comply. Our govt. loves to talk about gun laws, gun control and background checks, none of which apply here. But they've only prosecuted 44 of 48,000 people who illegally tried to buy a gun. Talk is cheap but action is absent!
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/ted-cruzs-claim-on-gun-background-check-prosecutions/2013/04/11/e4c4fa6e-a2ed-11e2-82bc-511538ae90a4_blog.html
If the govt. really wants to deter some of these cases where stupid parents arm dangerous kids, they need to pass (and ENFORCE) laws that incarcerate any parent who buys a firearm for a child that would otherwise be denied that purchase. This kid had a drug arrest, the Sandy Hook shooter was a nutjob on psych meds. At least his mother paid for her sins the hard way. The Dixie angle here is that the GOP, in its usual display of spinelessness, fell all over itself to remove the Confederate flag from any public place and even any merchandise. I guess that flag was not a symbol of racism and hatred until the other day? I wonder how many low info Americans even know it was the Democrat Southerners who owned slaves, started the KKK and put Jim Crow "laws" into use across the former confederate states? The SC Confederate flag was placed there by then Gov. (later Sen.) Hollings, (D) SC in 1962. The Russell Sen. Bldg. many of us visit when we travel to the Washington Leadership Conference was named for the racist, anti-civil rights Sen. Richard Russell (D) GA. Bill Clinton's 'god' & mentor, Sen. J. Wm. Fulbright (D) AR, was also part of this group of old crackers who supported segregation and opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which gave Blacks many rights previously denied to them. You'll never see or hear this on the liberal media, and the cowardly GOP says nothing, even allowing themselves to be blamed for this church murder. This is the same GOP that has bent over at every opportunity and done all they can to snatch defeat from the jaws of the landslide victory we gave them last Nov. As things stand right now, they could easily lose back the Sen. and WH in 2016.
I'll end with some hypocrisy exposure. If the Dixie Flag has inspired so much hatred and violence, that it warrants complete removal, what about the Islamic crescent and mosques? Both have inspired and radicalized or even facilitated the planning and execution of countless acts of terror worldwide, resulting in 1000s of deaths, tortures and mutilations. So, when will politicians and the media call for removing all Muslim symbols and places?

"Train Wrecks & Our Do Nothing FL Legislature"

Hello, friends, it's that time again. We not only have train wrecks in the Middle East theater, we also have actual ones on our railways. Let's take them in that order. First of all, it's great that our military whacked the ISIS $ man whose name is not even worthy of mention. ISIS has been too damn vocal in trumpeting their every ghoulish "achievement" on any media they can, so it's nice to hit them in the groin, assuming they have anything down there to hit. I say that because these "brave believers" threw women & kids at our Delta Forces, as human shields, to save their own pathetic butts.
http://theolivebranchreport.com/isis-leader-abu-sayyaf-accused-of-using-women-and-children-as-shields-killed-by-u-s-delta-force/
Aside from taking the POS out, we got plenty of valuable intel that will be used to track down and kill more ISIS vermin. But let's not kid ourselves into thinking this means the end of ISIS or that they aren't restocking their commode faster than we are able to flush it with ARs and drone-fired missiles. I also hope we weren't too eager or too quick to announce this successful mission, that we give them a chance to warn any ISIS tentacles whose whereabouts the captured intel uncovered. It wouldn't be the first time Obama screwed this up, especially when he's desperate to declare a win against his infamous "J.V." that seems to be quite resourceful, for rag tag amateurs. Obama has been deservedly vocal about our big score but very silent about the losses he and DOS spin as "setbacks". The map of ISIS controlled areas, as Ramadi just fell this weekend, keeps growing and this is not a problem the US can or should be burdened with solving. Islam is a cancer and you don't cure it with just bombs or MREs. Until the more civilized nations of the Middle East join forces and take ISIS out, it'll never happen. These nations are too weak, disorganized or corrupt to do that. The so called Iraqi elite forces we trained and equipped, fled in the face of ISIS, leaving behind weaponry ISIS will turn on us. The moderate Islamic nations fear backlash from internal masses of this vermin who are either simpatico or outright participants of terror. Their unelected police states lack the moral certitude and authority to take the necessary steps for the house cleaning it would involve.
The other train wreck, here at home, is our Amtrak fiasco. If ever there were a poster child of govt. ineptitude and failure, it's Amtrak. It gets our tax revenue, has been losing $ for decades and still sucks. Whether it's sub standard equipment or incompetent personnel who have union protection and are nearly impossible to remove & replace, Amtrak is a failure. Look at the engineer who's most likely to blame for this, he immediately lawyered up and has made sure to only state that he has "no recollection" of the event. The union will go out of their way to cover for him and protect him. No train simply accelerates to 106 m.p.h. on its own. He was obviously too distracted and only tried to brake in about as timely a manner as the Titanic swerved to miss that fatal iceberg. I wonder what his cell phone will reveal at the time of the crash? Of course, the left immediately tried to blame this on the GOP and lack of $, LOL. I guess we need to pay for gigantic Whoopee Cushions all along any curve on our nation's railways, so any train that jumps the track will be stopped safely with nothing more than a harmless, flatulence sound to follow. If you wanna see how Whoopee Cushions work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6x9cJWbsnOU

I realize it's absurd, but that, or sealing every mile of rail in tight tubes, would be the only way to have stopped this wreck. No amount of engineering, technology or gadgets can save us from human negligence of this magnitude. Try going twice the speed limit on a curved highway exit and see how that works out for you. This section of track has already proven to be Deadman's Curve in the past.
http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2015/05/13/amtrak_crash_in_philadelphia_it_happened_on_the_same_curve_as_one_of_america.html
This crash has taken the front page on the topic but there was another 10-car derailment in PA the same week, thank God with no injuries or fatalities. My RAV 4 seems safer than ever.
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-05-14/another-train-derails-pennsylvania-10-cars-track-near-pittsburgh-live-feed
I hope none of you will take my use of absurdity to illustrate the absurdity currently out there as a sign I find this needless tragedy humorous, I don't! People died and were severely injured. The Capt. of the Costa Concordia went to jail, so should this engineer.
You wanna solve the Amtrak problem? Privatize it and hold the private operators to the same rigorous oversight the airlines are held. Remember, this was the infrastructure we gave Obama & the Dems $800 billion to deal with. Of course, it went to unions, reelections and other Dem slush fund "priorities". Listen to Obama, himself, seated next to his Jobs Czar toady (GE CEO, Jeff Immelt, who's outsourced 1000s of jobs to China) on the topic of those famous "shovel ready jobs":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O55aRrvXtio
Now on to our hard working FL House & Senate. We just ended the annual session in Tallahassee with nothing, no budget, none of our bills funded!
http://www.floridataxwatch.org/resources/pdf/2015LegislativeWrapUpFINAL.pdf
The GOP has full control of both chambers, as well as the Governor's office- and all for what? They had budget impasse issues on whether or not to take Obamacare Medicaid expansion, as well as federal $ for the low income pool (LIP) citizens. LIP service is a good analogy, that's all we got this session. Aside from GOP disorganization, I blame this lack of leadership squarely where it belongs-the so called leadership. Sen. Pres. Gardiner & Spkr. Crisafulli were unable muster their ranks and iron out any differences to do the people's business. Crisafulli ended session 3 days early, simply packed it up and went home. The last 3 Speakers have been lightweight posers. Gov. Scott also seems unable to make these folks go back to work until a budget can be passed. When people want gridlock, they usually vote for a divided govt., we got it with a one-party rule! I'm gonna find it difficult to tell any of you, especially our students, to go the Tallahassee for DDOH, it doesn't seem to have accomplished much this year. The same can be said for Capitol Hill Club $ for these folks, they simply don't deserve it. BTW, none of this can be attributed to a lack of effort by our GAO team, they did everything humanly possible to get our bills passed and achieved great support, as well as smooth sailing through all the committees. If any of you see or talk to Joe Anne, Casey or Alexandra, please thank them.
I know this can and will be used by the DHAT lobby and its supporters to justify the "urgent need" for mid-level providers, since it may seem we dentists can't tie our own shoes. If you ever hear such rhetoric, make sure you point out the work we did, the overwhelming support our bills received, and the real reason they stalled. This type of incompetence and abdication of leadership by the GOP also has presidential implications for 2016. FL is a must win state for whichever party wants to be in the WH. If the RPOF (think ripoff) can't find its way out of the front door, how are they gonna deliver FL to the GOP?

" 10,9,8...3,2,1- We Have- Failure To Launch!"

Hello, my friends, it's been ages. Most of you probably know the failure in my title is the Hillary campaign. While Rubio announced to a packed house in downtown's historic Freedom Tower, Hillary hid out on social media, then in a small town Chipotle with dark glasses. We know it's not because Bubbba gave her a black eye, he hasn't touched her since Chelsea was conceived. How is it a person who wants us to meet her and vote for her would hide from the very "little people" she told she'd champion 2 days before? It's for the same reason she walked away from the media in NH and has yet to answer any questions, aside from "you want guac on that burrito?" BTW, Her Thighness neglected to even leave a tip, common for liberals who feel superior but very stupid for anyone running for office on the little guy facade.
http://dailycaller.com/2015/04/13/are-hillary-clinton-and-huma-hungover-this-photo-might-be-proof/
I swear, it looks like Huma's wearing a hijab! Hillary has more baggage than a 747 and can't run on her record. I wouldn't dream of trying to cover it all today, more in subsequent issues. It's clear even the so called "mainstream media" is fast losing patience with her delusion of total lack of accountability. Maybe she thinks they're gonna cover for her like they did for Obama. Problem is, she's the wrong age, color and has zero ability to BS (erroneously called charisma for Obama) like Barry & Bill.
The Dems are in panic mode over the soon to be released bombshell book ("Clinton Cash" by Peter Schweizer) that chronicles in great detail not only the different big $ donations the Billary Foundation got from foreign govts., but also when they occurred and ( in some cases) what the quid pro quo was. Since the AR days, Billary (that's Bill + Hillary) have been able to dodge, obfuscate, rope a dope or all out lie about their many scandals and skeletons. But that was mostly Cheatin' Bill and an adoring media gave him a pass. His wife is tragically devoid of any humor, wit, genuineness, or the ability to "be one" with the folks- whether it's her absurd (and very lame) attempts to talk with a Black dialect from the old South or her forced, phony cackling laugh that's jack hammer annoying. If Obama needs a 24/7 teleprompter, this lady needs a personality transplant.
Even the timing of her launch couldn't be worse, ISIS just beheaded more Christians on video. Our carrier sits in off the coast of Yemen, impotently watching Iranian ships delivering weapons to terrorists. This is the Middle East Obama & Hillary made far worse than they found it in 2009. No wonder she wants to hide out!
Rubio has done the complete opposite, following a very successful kickoff with appearances on many news shows, mostly unfriendly to the GOP. I think the minute he decided to run, was a clear shot across the bow to Jeb Bush. If Jeb had any sense, he would've run (and won) against Yahoo Nelson for Sen. in 2012. When I saw him standing like a poser, next to Romney in 2012, I knew what he was up to. Jeb Bush MUST NOT be the GOP candidate for Pres. in 2016! If he is, the GOP will go 0-3 in the last big elections, despite their 2 mid term landslide wins. It's way too early to make predictions, but I think Walker/Rubio would be a great ticket. Once they get in the ring and take their swings, we will see who prevails and who fizzles. I think Crisco (Chris Christie) and Dr. Ben are done.
Last week was the SFDDA's Annual Business Meeting, held in Kovens Center. It was the first time in  few years we didn't lump it in as part of the Miami Winter Meeting, whose recent Feb. outing may well be its swan song. Our keynote speaker was ADA Pres., Dr. Maxine Feinberg. I car pooled and got there a little early, so I was able to chat with her a few minutes. Don't worry, my liberal colleagues, it was all good. This lady is a class act and very aware of the problems we face. What I found most refreshing is she didn't parrot that tired PC line that the plight of the poor with bad teeth is all the fault of us greedy dentists who drive BMWs and don't care if they're in pain. The biggest problem I heard Maxine talk about is the fact the ADA has little control of and representation in CODA. You wanna know how programs like LECOM are even allowed to be created, let alone graduate deficient dentists to turn loose on the public? Look no further than CODA and its nationalist agenda. These are the folks who hold Pew & Kellogg's to be sacred, they absolve the dental poor of any and all complicity in their plight. They know the answer is not to build more dental schools, it's to put the new dentists together with those pts. most in need, in exchange for loan relief. But what they really want is to make dentistry succumb to the same generic clinical mediocrity that medicine has been hobbled by. They aim to do this by opening new programs run by corporations and not dentists, especially no specialists (pun intended). Can any of you who went to dental school even imagine how deficient your training would have been if you'd been taught the dental specialties without any specialists to do it? Call me raving mad, but I was taught perio by periodontists, OMS by OMS and endo by endodontists. My professor of anesthesia was none other than Stanley Malamed!
My favorite anecdote of the night was about a woman in a MOM event who was waiting for pro bono care. She had a damaged dentition yet both her arms were covered with what's known as "sleeve tattoos". When she was asked how much something like that cost, she replied "$200 per inch". That's right, Drs., $200 per inch, not per arm! An average adult's arm, wrist to shoulder, measures 18", so that's $3,600 per arm!!
Of course, we're not allowed to point that out, it's judgmental and offensive. That might be true of our pts. who actually pay for our work, we're all entitled to our priorities. But, as I often mention, America is the only nation whose poor are overweight, have cars, drink beer, smoke, have cable, cell phones, flat screen TVs, A/C and food stamps so they can eat without working to produce a penny. Thank you Obama & the Democrat party! To be fair, the GOP is also complicit in ignoring this abuse, for fear of being demonized by an opposition who will never like them or vote for them. If Hillary needs a personality transplant, the RINOs need spinal & gonad transplants.
It looks like our feature bill this session, to give dental grads loan relief in exchange for working in under served areas, will pass all committees and be signed into law. The only thing that could derail it is the old obstacle from past years, $. I hope it does pass and the state is serious about following through with the next steps needed, namely the facilities where these pts. will be treated. We cannot allow our opposition to define and demean us, we must fight back hard! Unlike medicine, dentistry is still 75-80% general to 15-20% specialist. Our model of care works and we cannot allow ulterior motives and hidden agendas to make our profession a trade and our practitioners govt. employees or tools of an industry.

"The Middle East Burns, Bibi Wins & Barry Clings Bitterly"

I hope all of you had a happy St. Paddy's and you were able to work the next day. It's obvious we have a rapidly deteriorating region that is far worse off now than it was in 2009. ISIS (Obama's famous J.V. team) has managed to metastasize into Iraq, Syria, Libya and now Yemen. They just had a carnage of epic proportions in Sanaa, of course it has to be Bush's fault, LOL. Too bad the J.V. didn't even exist when Bush was in office.
http://abcnews.go.com/International/dozens-feared-dead-200-injured-yemen-mosque-attacks/story?id=29776828
Let's not forget how harshly Bush was ripped for his admittedly stupid "mission accomplished" remarks after Iraq fell. But, of course, the Obama media won't do the same for this bit of bungling idiocy proven wrong:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4EJ2eUKHiI
You see, in the "reasoning" of the irrationality that is liberalism, 9-11 happened on Bush's watch, without any consideration of the 4 Al Qaeda attacks on US interests and soil under Clinton's watch that went unpunished and the fact he passed on several chances to waste Bin Laden. We'd have to be stupid enough to believe that everything to do with 9-11 was planned, practiced and executed in the first 8 months of Bush. Add to that the fact Bush also left a stable Iraq that was subsequently mishandled by many players and fell apart in 2011, especially when the US withdrew its troops. So, anyone with a lick of sense knows Obama's capitulation, bungling, total lack of trust in his military and inability to gather allies is precisely the cause of the current mess in the sand. Problem is, the average American is that stupid, or at least uninformed. Let's help them remember, shall we:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKSb2ukQxvY
Why else do you think Netanyahu won this week? The Israelis know what it's like to be in the crosshairs of Iran and all its minions. They realize this is no time for an Obama type wimp. Bibi is clearly everything Obama is not, precisely why Barry was furious that he came here. In the end, Israel knows Obama will never take out the nuke capabilities of his fellow Muslim brethren in Persia, they'll have to do it themselves. Would anyone expect a POTUS who can't even deal with tin horn, old, owl-faced Raul Castro to be able to handle Iran? Obama's even forcing our military to delay the Bowe Bergdahl verdict because it's gonna look really bad and expose the PC cancer that is crippling our military-which is why our troops give Obama a well deserved 15% approval rating. Barry had no time for Bibi but did make time to meet with pop culture loserette, GloZell, whose accomplishments include immersing herself in a tub of milk and snarfing down all Froot Loops floating in the milk. I get it, Obama was doing a twofer, punching his ghetto card and getting out the young & stupid vote. That's far more important than the Middle East, see for yourselves

http://www.americasfreedomfighters.com/2015/01/22/obama-refuses-to-meet-with-netanyahu-but-meets-with-glozell/
I won't overly belabor the Hillary email scandal. She's a liar, married an even bigger liar, and has been one her entire life. http://www.fireandreamitchell.com/2013/05/10/hillary-clinton-fired-from-watergate-committee-for-fraud-ethics-violations/
Let's just look at the lowest hanging fruit: she claims the reason for all of this was to only need one device.
But soon after that, in true sociopath miscalculation, she told the truth about how many phones she really has.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXjB-HAhmUY
This one's not going away and there's at least 1 Benghazi tentacle on this octopus. She's just reignited a fire the Dems thought was extinguished. Gowdy et al need to go after her fast and hard. She'll have to lie under oath and it will be provable. I've always felt Hillary was a mediocre lawyer, at best, and was hired coz she was Bubba's wife. It's become painfully obvious that Bubba needs to spend less time with his mistresses and more time training his wife to lie better. Come to think of it, if Hillary Rodham hadn't married Bill Clinton, no one would have ever heard of her. The Dems are in the same deep doo doo the GOP was in the last few years. They have no candidate and their lineup is composed of radical, wrinkled, nasty bitter witches and unelectable lightweights like Bernie Sanders and Martin O'Malley.
Racial violence shows no sign of abating and Ferguson is no less stable now than the day after thug, Mike Brown, was deservedly blown away
 http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/police-arrest-suspect-in-shooting-of-2-officers-in-ferguson/
I genuinely feel for and worry about police officers who have to patrol these dangerous inner cities. One of the gripes from the race grievance industry is that Ferguson is 70% black but has a majority white police dept. and local govt. Do any of you wonder how that can be??? You guessed it, the black voters don't turn out to vote, what a shock!
http://crooksandliars.com/2014/08/local-leaders-most-fergusons-black
I wonder how many of them turned out in 2008 & 2012 for their Lord & Savior, Barack Hussein Obama?
Let's end with some dentistry. It appears the McDentist/DHAT cabal may have actually done themselves some damage, GOOD!! At a recent dental debate in UF this topic was dealt with. An Indian (Native American) dentist from CO went on and on about why DHATs are needed and how many deserving Americans have no access to care. He never touched on why it is that Indians and other minorities are in perpetual poverty. Maybe programs like Great Society, War on Poverty, Community Reinvestment Act (all created by Dems) were never really designed to succeed at anything but keeping these people dependent and voting Democrat so they could have a permanent job doling our our tax $? This dentist sounded nice but also got in our faces with remarks like "DHATs are inevitable, they're here to stay". He also said that many of the underserved "don't trust a dentist who doesn't look like them and that's got to change" WTH?! My non-white pts. love coming my office and trust me unconditionally, they prove it by referring others all the time. The Left is quick to scold us for not being inclusive, but they give a pass to those who are most in need and least in any position to be racially judgmental! Yeah, Doc, it has to change-and you guys need to change it! Why is it Red China can send 1000s of students to come to the West but the reservations can't do the same? They certainly make $ billions in casinos & sales of smokes. Maybe those who are "stuck on the rez" wanna stay on  those erstwhile symbols of oppressive segregation for tax exempt status? My dad always made it a point to have our family of 8 live in parts of Miami where better English was spoken and schools were better, so we'd fully assimilate and get a better education. Cubans and other immigrants came here with nothing and have succeeded wildly. Maybe if our Native Americans got off their lazy butts and put down the fire water, they'd be more successful.
http://www.ibtimes.com/native-americans-tragedy-alcoholism-214046
He also contradicted himself when he assured us DHATs can never work alone and are always under direct supervision of a dentist, yet they work in places where there's no dentist. There were other speakers from public health backgrounds, even one who refuted some of the cherry picked BS used to sell this "crisis". If our govt. can get EBT cards and Obama phones into the hands of the poor, why not vouchers to use at an office they choose? Why can Big Brother build secret complexes to house weaponry, spy tech, ammo, food supplies, etc. in areas so remote not even Road Runner & Wiley Coyote have been there, but not build dental clinics for Eskimos or Navajos? The number of dentists who graduate with staggering debt (and no bank will touch) would work in these facilities if it were worth their while. It's no worse than McDentist, where most of them go now. Drs., this is not a movement we can ignore. Govt. created these underclasses and has no interest in doing anything other than dumping them into our laps. I'm glad it appears we have (and have had for years) a good alternative that's finally getting traction in Tallahassee. Loan forgiveness, as a vehicle to attract young dental grads to underserved areas is a way to get access to care for those who need it most. Of course, pro bono services like those we deliver through MOM, DDS and PDC are also key but not enough on their own. Man, would I have loved to have been and torn this clown a new one! If any of you wanna hear this DHAT sellathon, let me know and I'll send you the video link. It will hopefully upset you and open your eyes to what we face.
The likes of meddling foundations like Pew and Kellogg's will never go away, any more than Kellogg's will stop making and pushing cereals that contribute to caries, diabetes and for GloZell to wallow in. It only makes matters worse when our own colleagues (all of you know who I mean)  are only too eager to stoke those flames. This junta cannot be reasoned with, it must be confronted and soundly defeated! Only through unending advocacy and good alternatives will we ever accomplish that. As always, I'll be supporting our issues this week during DDOH. See you there!

"J.V. Makes the Playoffs: Random Jews & Burning Bodies"

Hello, my friends! I will actually talk about a dental issue later, after some current events. Yes, we just had another attack on free speech and those who dare practice it, courtesy of the religion of peace, in Copenhagen. At least the body count was 2, vs. the 14 in Paris. Denmark is one of the many Euro nations with a serious Muslim problem, mostly self inflicted by allowing huge numbers to occupy their normally peaceful nation. Once again, Obama's J.V. (ISIS) continues to over achieve and outperform beyond his wildest expectations. These sub humans have now metastasized into Libya and were seen bragging about invading Rome. The list of nations Obama has screwed up, fled and allowed to become havens for the most vile terrorists who've ever walked the earth continues to grow. They took over Al-Baghdadi, one of the few Iraqi cities still under Iraqi control, and are now surrounding the nearby base in Iraq where 300 Marines are training Iraqi soldiers to do what has been, to date, unthinkable for them-actually fight their enemies instead of running like wimps. The recent barbaric burning of 45 Iraqis, a mere 5 miles from the base, is ominous to say the least. At least Obama can correctly call them "Iraqi citizens", unlike the 21 Coptic Christians he spinelessly chose to merely call "Egyptian citizens".  They were beheaded simultaneously on the beaches of Libya, after committing the mortal sins of being Christian and seeking work in Libya.
The random Jews I mentioned in the title are the people killed in that Kosher deli in Paris who just happened to be Jewish, imagine that! But these were called "random folks" by our clown-in-chief who still believes Orwellian new speak can hide the fact terrorism is on the march under his watch. The only problem with the emperor cloaking reality from the rest of us is the emperor's wearing no clothes. One thing I have to say about Obama, he's consistent. The idiots he places in high visibility positions are as hapless and deluded as he is, especially in the State Dept. They have 2 info twits named Jen Psaki and her sidekick, Marie Harf. These women are an embarrassment at the level of Baghdad Bob from the 2003 Iraq invasion. They seem more at home in the cast of Clueless or Legally Blonde than the real world, where the aggressive use of force rules the day. Harf actually believes (or parrots the stupidity fed to her) that if we only gave these terrorists jobs, they'd be dissuaded from mass killing and barbarism. Poverty may indeed play a role in deviant (sub human in this case) actions but Bin Laden and many of the 9-11 hijackers were rich. Besides, if Obama can't even create jobs in the US, who could believe he's gonna do it elsewhere, especially in hellholes like most of the ISIS held nations are? Maybe we can send Jeff Immelt over there, I doubt he'd be joking about shovel ready jobs. To anyone who doubts me, consider Kayla Mueller. This lovely young woman went to Syria with a group I often call Doctors Without Brains, to help the truly needy and downtrodden. She was taken hostage and killed by ISIS. I realize my nomenclature may offend some of you who've gone on dental missions and helped those who need it most. But to go into the Middle East for anything but to kill terrorists, under its present state of chaos and atrocity, is a suicide pact.
Can any of you remember Bill Clinton's sop to the PC pipe dream of diversity when talking about his cabinet in the 1990s? He said he wanted a "cabinet that looks like America" The problem with Obama is he wants (and has gotten) a cabinet that looks like Obama! That clown he has running the Army is as big a joke as his ridiculous name, Jeh. His incompetence is more akin to "meh". Will we ever have a Pres. with more Defense Sec. turnover than Obama? I doubt it, only coaching the Dolphins is less desirable.
http://news.firedoglake.com/2014/11/28/does-anyone-want-to-be-the-secretary-of-defense/
My concern is we have a buffoon who's obviously stalling, postponing, foot dragging- anything to run out the clock and leave his successor with more crap than the NY sewer system to clean up. Remember Bowe Bergdahl? That case was wrapped up several months ago but our hapless military is too scared to announce the verdict or carry out any punishment. Besides, Bowe needs to take a number and wait for fellow Army traitor, Bradley Manning, to complete his ongoing tranny process. Barry knows he can count on the low info morons to be totally disconnected, while the state run media and liberal historians paper it over to create a legacy for him. He's even talked of staying in DC to oversee the BS. But, as he dithers, we have ISIS and other terror groups who are no doubt preparing to pull off another large scale attack in our nation. If the Tsarnaev Bros. were able to do it in Boston, imagine a well funded, highly trained and more virulent group of monsters?  Now to dentistry.
Last post I talked about the LECOM issue and how this model of less than well trained dentists may become the "new normal". My friends, this is no accident, it's a purposeful strategy. Here's how it works. First, you open dental schools whose grads have little or no real training, be it from a proper faculty with enough experienced practitioners who can pass on their years of real world experience to students, as well as an adequate number of clinic pts. on which to develop these skills. Add to that input from groups like Pew, who only demean the lack of access to care by a demographic who breaks appointments at a 50% rate, even when it's free, rather than offer any real solutions. They'll give a state like FL and F grade but will not grade the truly biggest obstacle to a child's dental care- their parent (usually a single mother). The Kellogg's Foundation is another outside agitator who does even more harm, they criticize us but sell sugary cereals that are great at sticking to occlusal pits & fissures. To finish off our 3-legged stool of failure, let's add DHATs. Yes, these mid-level "providers" can do most of the services the dentists who graduate with staggering debt perform. When organized dentistry objects, the Frank Catalanotto solution is to blame the dental community. You see, we need to get down in the barrio or hood and do the work no dentist with $300.00-400,000 student loan debt can afford to do.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/health-science-technology/dollars-and-dentists/dr-frank-catalanotto-why-the-ada-is-wrong-about-access-to-dental-care/
In addition, when we produce more and more new dentists with scant clinical experience and skills, it'll be far more difficult to call out the DHATs as less than dentists and an inferior tier of care. Eventually, the twain could meet, God forbid. In places like Cuba or the former USSR, that already happened, with dire consequences. So, who should be leading the fight to defeat this downward spiral? Gee, maybe our own ADA? But that's never gonna happen as long as it's an organization driven by a strong arm Executive Director who's surrounded by an intimidated BOT that dares not speak out, not if they ever wanna be ADA Pres. I'm pretty sure that's what derailed the last candidate for ADA Pres. we ran from FL. Will the third time be the charm? We are losing our profession! Either we fight these outside forces and deal with our own interior dysfunction, or we shall go the way of the AMA.

"Free Speech Or A Caliphate?- The World Must Decide"

Hello, my friends, I hope all of you enjoyed the Christmas & New Year break. 2015 had barely gotten under way when we were once again reminded that Islam is NOT a religion of peace. It has become painfully clear you cannot mix primitive scum who worships death with a modern civilized society. This element leaves their own backward hell holes where no freedoms or opportunities exist, only to pollute their host nations, refuse to assimilate and murder anyone who makes fun of their dysfunctional cult they flee, yet hypocritically wish to impose. France, the UK, and Belgium are doomed, unless they take some drastic measures they've been totally unwilling to do up to now. The French are reaping what they sowed, allowing this vermin to infest their nation to the point of 10% occupancy. Yes, it is an occupation! They have bullied the feckless Euros into allowing entire zip codes of "no-go" zones for the host nations, where even police don't dare enter. They have imposed Sharia courts that celebrate genital mutilation, women forbidden to leave their home unaccompanied by a man, "honor" killings and other delightful trappings of the 7th century. To see how big a problem this is in Paris, please watch this video, it will really open your eyes:
http://downloads.cbn.com/cbnnewsplayer/cbnplayer.swf?aid=17933
When I heard the reports and saw the video of French police arriving on the scene of the Charlie Hebdo massacre on bicycles and with no firearms, I couldn't manage to LOL because of the sheer tragedy and waste of human life. Never mind the footage of that poor cop  on his knees, pleading for his life to no avail. Once again, we see the utter failure of gun control, as these 2 sub humans had no problem getting (fully automatic) AK-47s. The scumbag who hit the Kosher grocery store also had dynamite, yes, those controls are really working! Are the French suicidal? Yes, they are. These are the same fools who actually did the right thing when they elected a moderate Pres.Sarkozy, only to remove him for a cowardly socialist who openly flaunts his mistress. One of the main issues in that election was fiscal accountability, Sarkozy was improving their economy but that was at the expense of the freeloaders. The backlash was ridden to victory by Francois Hollande and the nation is paying dearly. Spain also enjoys a healthy, robust 25% unemployment rate, we once called those numbers the Great Depression. The serious lack of jobs has caused them to lose their best and brightest to places like Germany or Brazil. These nations can't deal with their own failures then they import far more dangerous ones. How's the US reacting to all of this?
We have a Pres. who can't use "Islamic" and "terrorist" in the same sentence. He snubbed the Paris march for unity, with other heads of state-Obama's not gonna offend his fellow Muslims or take to any stage where he has to share the spotlight with other leaders, especially those who really do lead. Our accomplice media, like PMSNBC & CNN, tell us we need to coddle and understand the terrorists. I wonder if they'll be singing that tune if one of their buildings gets blown up and their people slaughtered? All these nice, well intended imams come on the news programs and reassure us that good Muslims the world over are opposed to this brutality. Are any of those the same good Muslims who lustily cheered in the streets after 9-11?
https://search.yahoo.com/searchfr=mcafee&type=B210US0D20140406&p=crowds+in+Musli+cities+cheering+after+9-11
In case you might believe this scum is not also in the US:
 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5BtQgTGOI4
We need to stop falling for the touchy feely BS and recognize we'll be seeing the same thing here in the near future, if we won't do anything more aggressive. There have already been numerous attacks on our soil on Obama's watch, which he likes to call "workplace violence". The same NSA, CIA, DHS and ATF who will show up with 3-4 black SUVs if you buy the wrong vehicle or say the wrong thing about our "dear leader" have been unable to stop Ft. Hood, Boston, the beheading of a woman in OK City and other terrorist attacks. There are thousands of Americans who go to terrorist nations to train. Why the hell are they allowed back in?! We are told by Big Brother to be tolerant but the Muslims have zero tolerance and one must walk on eggshells around them. The same liberal reporters who refuse to criticize this element have no problem excoriating and defaming Tea Party, conservatives and Christians. But it's comforting to know Zero always backs the right groups and regimes- he's releasing the Club Gitmo gang to return to killing infidels and throwing his Marxist brothers, the Castros, a lifeline just before the entire putrid gulag (aka Cuba) totally collapses. Things weren't always so ridiculous in America. We used to be able to identify and devastate our enemies:

Okay, I know they're nasty, today they'd be called racist. So, is the price of PC and worrying about world opinion (or that of our enemies) worth submitting to carnage and fear? The left believes it is but most Americans (and the staff of Charlie Hebdo) do not. I'm sure SNL & Jon Stewart, won't dare make fun of Islam. Colbert did it a year ago but he won't any longer. Of course, there are more subtle ways to do this, with images that are less offensive but still make the point. Those who give up freedom for the notion of security will soon have neither. The last time we openly identified and totally defeated our enemies was also the last time we won a war, 1945. We also had no problem with collateral damage or loss of innocents. Col. Ralph Peters recently said it most eloquently, I'm sure our pretzel wristed joke of a Cmdr.-in-Chief strongly disagrees:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuQBKIIL880
Let's end with dentistry. I've recently become aware that the third and newest dental school in FL, LECOM, has some fundamental problems. While they have beautiful new buildings, they lack the elements any of us consider mandatory for a dental school that can actually produce competent dentists. They dispense with the absurd notion an experienced dentist could teach a kid who knows ZIP about dentistry how to actually do dentistry. They prefer "problem-based" and "self-directed" methods. The students have plastic cadavers (so did I in 5th grade, when I built the Visible Man and Visible Frog models by Renwal) in lieu of real dead people. When asked what cement is indicated for a Zr Crown, they have to get a crib sheet that tells them which cement is needed. So, I guess the concept of a course in dental materials is out of the question? There aren't large clinics for the different disciplines like we see in traditional programs. They outsource their seniors, to Defuniak Springs, FL and PA ( the LE = Lake Erie), Juniors don't seem to get much clinical access, at least not enough to know the right cement to use. The faculty is skeleton crew, no depth in the roster. To add to the problem, the school is in a community where the income level is such that most of the residents aren't gonna spend an entire afternoon to have 2 fillings done. I believe this is the single biggest threat to our profession, going forward, and the fact the ADA would even allow this is outrageous. I also wonder what our own ADA/FDA delegates and trustees might think about this? The reason I ask is because I was shocked how many of us were afraid to offend the BOD in the recent board rules issue, where we prevailed and a sensible solution was reached. I hope this Stockholm Syndrome is not a factor if and when we deal with the LECOM issue, though it will probably have to be handled at the ADA level, in the end. I fear what we're slouching towards is a Ronald McDonald College to prepare workers (not clinicians) for a career with McDentist. For those of my colleagues who might be offended, I'm sorry you feel that way. Ask yourselves if you'd go (or send your wife or kids) to a dentist trained in such a program?
