"The Lady Was Right!"

Hello, everybody, hope all you moms had a nice Mother's Day. I'm actually gonna start with dental topics, don't be shocked. For those who don't know, our illustrious governor, Lex Luthor, threw a kryptonite veto at both of our bills we've worked so hard to finally pass and get funded! The donated services bill was vetoed first, I commented on that one last post. The dental access bill was also vetoed on the last day possible, with the following excuses: 1) Some greedy dentists might set up in a less than limited access area and make big bucks on all those rich Floridians we all have way too many of, LOL. 2) The state's wonderful govt. programs and facilities already take care of those poor people's tooth problems. We who deal with pts. know these excuses are a crock. I believe what this really was, was payback from Scott for the FDA telling him to buzz off a few years ago, when he demanded we give $50,00 to the RPOF. So, who's the lady in my title? Well, rather than repeat what I said about Lex last post, I'll let her give her opinion, which I think was correct on most counts, no matter how reprehensible the person who said it.

It used to the legislature's infighting was our biggest obstacle to getting our bills through. Now that they did get through, funding and all, it's the useless governor who's the problem. No matter what we do, he can simply veto our bills and let's not kid ourselves that both House & Senate are gonna call for a special session and override him. Unless we can craft some tighter, more specific language that will deprive Lex Luthor of his justifications to veto, we're dead in the water. Even with some tweaks to the bills, he can still be a problem for us. I, for one, will be happy to see Scott out of the political landscape for good. It's sickening to see how OH passed this bill 18 months ago and Kasich signed it without any hesitation. Granted, there are differences in their bill to ours, including how it's funded. Nevertheless, they found a way to get it done while our joke of a governor found a way to do kill it. Scott was a hold your nose vote to keep Reptile Charlie out, but I wonder if Nan Rich wouldn't have been a better choice? I may disagree with her on some issues but I think she certainly would have signed these two bills.

I haven't heard from any who attended the DC conference, I hope they got somewhere on McCarran-Ferguson. For those of you unfamiliar with it, McCarran-Ferguson is a law which basically says, "you doctors can't price fix or collude, coz it's anti-trust and we'll throw your butts in jail, but Big Insurance pays us off very handsomely, so they can do it". As I see it, this issue seems to be a combination of the ADA's Charlie Brown football & the GOP telling us they needed the House, getting the House but giving Obama everything he wants, using the fact they didn't have the Senate as a new excuse, then still doing nothing once we gave them the Senate. Every year we hear how we're making progress and McCarran-Ferguson and I'm tired of hearing the same old same old. Where are all the dentists and physicians we've given big $ to and put in Congress on this issue?
As for the upcoming elections, Trump's got the GOP side. Now the RINOs, consultant idiots who've made $ millions losing 2 elections and other GOP clique members need to get over it, remove their heads from you know where, and back the candidate! After all, isn't that what they always told conservative voters to do when they ran walking dead like Dull & McLame, as well as Unfit Mitt, who lacked the 'nads to take the fight to Obama? As much as they rip Trump (not my 1st choice but I'll support him 100%) for causing his own party's division, look at Hillary. She still can get rid of Comrade Sanders and his persistence is becoming a bigger problem for her. Why? Because the longer this Marxist hangs around, the more infuriated his clueless but fanatical followers will be when their messiah gets the inevitable shaft. Between super delegates and other DNC chicanery used to deny him, they're not gonna go for the person who orchestrated it.
Obama continues to give the middle finger to America, especially the WWII greatest generation. He's traveling to Hiroshima (why is it nobody ever visits Nagasaki?) to probably apologize for our barbarism and audacity to actually win a war. Why the hell else would he go? Barry wants the world to know he hates nukes, unless it's for his Iranian brethren. I'll gladly apologize for Little Boy & Fat Man as soon as Japan apologizes for Pearl Harbor & the Bataan Death March. What Obama can't (or won't) admit is we were attacked first and those nukes ended the war much sooner than a protracted  invasion of the Japanese mainland would have, never mind the much higher death toll it would have meant on both sides. In WWII, we wiped out cities in Germany & Japan, no civilian casualty precautions were taken. That means we punished & demoralized those populations for supporting despotic mad men, to the point they gave up and surrendered unconditionally. Look at Germany & Japan today, they are both industrial & technical powerhouses who produce many great products and innovations. Never mind cars, I challenge one of you, my colleagues, to tell me your office doesn't use at least one product from either nation.
Now let's look at nations we went to war with and didn't complete the job. N. Korea is a 4th world hell hole and Viet Nam is a glorified sweat shop, better but not a free nation in any way. JFK pulled the plug (air support) on the Bay of Pigs invasion and Cuba continues to be a festering, crumbling whore house. Worse than that, it has served as the nidus for the spread of communism throughout Latin America, though more and more of these nations appear to finally be waking up. I hope that continues and these beleaguered nations realize communists don't believe in elections or going away quietly. This is why we fight wars these days for decades and accomplish nothing. The Middle East is ample proof of that. Bottom line, no lasting peace or stability is ever achieved in a military conflict without the total defeat and unconditional surrender of one side by the other.
